The great gameplay is back from a year ago, the controls are simple to master, and there is usually a full range of methods of you to choose from, season, olympic tourney, exhibition, practice, shootout, season, and YES finally a franchise modelimited only to 10 seasons, however it is a start. Its not quite as thorough as Maddens, that allows you to play 30 seasons, extensive FA signings, etc. but Im very happy to just notice finally. NHL 2002 can be a good game, with only a couple flaws preventing it from learning to be a true classic.

The PS2 version of the game rocks. The sound, hands per hour, music, and graphics are typical superb. My sole complaint is that it can be so more difficult to score within the DIFFICULT level of skill than it is for the MEDIUM ability. I must bump the opposing goalie down one notch for the start of each game, but no less than theyve included that feature that allows you to adjust each teams skill before each game.
Does anybody think EA should make these games on a subscription basis? Yes, Im thinking about buying next years game for your new rosters and new team chemistry, if there exists such a thing, however its a shame my purchase really only lasts twelve months. Or give to us a dynasty mode where we are able to build we and tweak others on the course of several seasons so you can adapt each teams overall skill for years to come. Just my two cents.
