I presently use Paperport 14, OmniPage Pro 17 and PDF Pro 8 successfully on Win 7. However, I, like numerous others, are testing Win 8. Paperport Pro 14 installs correctly and runs checks on my small scanner CanoScan Lide 200 successfully. However, when I need to scan something in, the program says the scanner isn't connected. The interesting part is the fact that OmniPage Pro and PDF Pro both utilize the scanner just great, so it is usually a problem with Paperport Pro only. Is there an update for Paperport popping out soon so we are able to continue test? Thanks.

Have tried installing Paperport w/compatibility checked. Have tried running paperport with various compatibility settings, and w/and w/o administrator rights. Scanner can there be, but scanner communications are becoming hung up somewhere.

I installed papeport 14 on a brand new Surface Pro 3, all did wonders for a week but things slowed up to a crawl. I followed your instructions to take out and reinstall, the good news is the 64 bit image printer won't install, I cleaned up the registry of the nuance and paperport entries, removed the from cpanel, and restarted more often than not, no firewall no defender etc.
Is there any approach to install the printer, its a serious part of papeport so that you can print to your desktop.

I does start the installer with the 64 bit image printer, it actualy shows up like a removable program from the control panel and I ought to remove it to try to put in it again. I have tried installing from unzipped folders, it is going 10% in the way in then flicers the scroll bar blanks out along with the process stays without progress untill I restart or terminate it, it shows up inside the programs list but no printer is included in my devices printers group. At this point I am hoping there is really a registry edit that will the additin in the printer somehow.

You should enter your PaperPort 14.0 or 14.1 or 14.2 serial number. The upgrade to PP14.5 costs nothing for any prior point launch of PP14, but you are doing need to enter your serial number from that prior release.

PP14 supports scanners via ISIS, TWAIN, and WIA drivers. Ive never had a Gestetner MP C2030, but determined by some quick web research, it generally seems to have TWAIN drivers. So all you must do is install the Gestetner MP C2030 TWAIN driver on your own new PC, the constant maintenance to select the best driver for the new PCs version of Windows including bit level 32 or 64. I prefer to download the most up-to-date drivers on the websites of scanner manufacturers.

As I expected, IrfanView also cannot perform scan, so PaperPort is just not the problem it's got something to do using your scanner or its TWAIN driver or its network connection something like that in Windows. Two ideas:
1 Make certain the correct IP address 192.168.100.250 is inside the Network Setting tab within your scanners Properties. The strategy to check this is within the Scanners and Cameras applet. If you dont observe that in Control Panel, this EE article explains the way to access it:
