IMPORTANT TIP on shrinking the file size!!! - - I found that my ophome file was trying out about 1700k even though I trimmed down my emails towards the bare essentials. Two things I found that made a tremendous difference my ophome is actually 695k were 1: the cache4 folder within the profile folder. And 2: the lexicon folder inside the mail folder. They are both really unnecessary for operation. - - The lexicon data is simply for speeding up searches thru your emails. If you may have opera portable ignore both of these folders gets hotter compresses/stores the ophome file, youd go to a great decrease within the ophome file size.

OperaUSB is NOT suitable for USB-flash/thumb drives. The cache writes for the disk constantly I have personally exhausted USB-disks by doing this.

My default file is just about 8 MB. Ive tried deleting all mail messages I utilize it to check mail and lots of RSS feeds and all sorts of skins except usually the one Im using. Ive been able to get the file into 5 or 6 MB even so it creeps back. This may be described as a feature of Opera, I dont recall it happening before the pace dial feature was introduced, this time.
Right now I copy my ophome file as well as the executable to some directory in this little hard drive and run it beyond this concept, and easily copy it back towards the USB when I must switch computers.
Great program, but it appears to be I have a similar issue as brian together with the slow shutdown. Any help yuku?

Im using Opera Personal for quit some time now and its particular working fine. I can find one problem that may be worth an update. Ill explain: When installed with CTRLF12 - History - and all of options for leaving history on 0, none, never a history is still saved within the personal file. Can you need to do something with this? The same issue exists on all computers and Windows platforms Ive tested them. Thanks upfront.

Love it. Is there methods to store the bookmark icons. When I open Opera every one of the custom icons dissappear back to your defalult skin bookmark icons. During the session they demonstrate up fine as I visit each page, then again poof gone.
I think no. Maybe considering that the settings file would develop bigger and bigger while using time, if would store every icon it encounter.

Excellent job! This would be the best portable browser I have tried, and Opera is obviously the best browser. I like how you could have a separate subdirectory for each of the temp files and you wipe them towards the end. I hope your wipe method is truly secure, but certainly generally seems to work flawlessly.

Is there a known reason on any version newer than 9.21 it will take 5-ten minutes for OperaPortable to save lots of my settings during cleanup? Deleting the hebat directory doesnt take any further 30sec, but sometimes I can go eat lunch, revisit, along with the little gray box is there saving my settings. I love OperaPortable, but I basically have to remember to shut it down 10 mins before I leave work to the day.

I would like to work with this over a cd but it has got the same problem since the normal browsers when trying to utilize flash with local files I receive the security warning. I have read until this is something new since flash version 8. Do you could have any versions of Opera Portable which includes an earlier version of flash so until this warning wont show up?

Superb! Just found Opera one-use portable 9.64 and it also is exactly what I need for any CD based demo. But, can it be possible to utilize builder to make a kiosk mode version with local url to operate a flash panorama? And, could it be simple to work with builder? I got the builder after trying this to get a year and integrated my customizations to the one-use version. It loads very quickly and hasn't got to save when closing. This would be the ultimate thumbdrive companion!

Minor whinge, but would it be possible to create the nicknames of your respective favourites to figure in either lower case or upper case? In normal Opera you may enter your nicknames in both case and so they work, but my nicknames have been in upper case so when entering them in the URL bar in lower case they are certainly not
Disregard this. They do already work with both cases. The reason I couldnt get mine to be effective was because I experienced a duplicate copy of the identical URL which Id deleted to my trash and lastly it couldnt differentiate between your two. I emptied the trash and from now on there is only 1 nickname in order that it now works fine:-
How will you get for your profile whenever you are running coming from a USB HDD? The only files I show are and and once its running. I wish to add the ad-block set of URLs to my profile but cant see the best way to do it. Any ideas? Sick of seeing each of the ads.

Ive done a donation to download to Opera builder however havent receive any connection to download it.

I just started using opera 10.0 personal version and it also really suck up a great deal of memory 100k. I loke opera but every new edition is larger bigger and memory hungry.
