Oregon Trail is a superb educational series, but I warn that you stay from this version. For one thing, I think the 5th edition claim is just not true; its quality is greatly inferior to my 3rd edition and I suspect it's just a refurbished earlier edition. I never got Oregon Trail 2, so I are unsure if this is precisely the same, though the technology used is reminiscent in the mid-ninties.

First of the, this is EXACTLY like oregon trail 2 except they put in some content from 3 and 4, in addition to the absolutely idiotic animation which has nothing to do with YOUR trip most likely and just gets in the manner.

Ive loved all of the versions of Oregon Trail ive played, and that is pretty much these people, which one is at the very least consistent using the series, although i do think the designers ran beyond ideas and merely threw them all together and named it the 5th edition.
So, overall, its ok, but id suggest having the original version if you're able to find it, its definitely the best and works even by using an XP and mostly likely over a Vista, and it is the most fun.

Despite seeing as others had trouble running this with Vista I ignored it because I usually haven't any trouble getting programs to operate one way or another in this little machine. I bought farmville because I LOVED playing it in elementary school and was throughly disappointed that it wouldn't normally even install the action on my computer. Luckily I was competent to send it returning to Amazon for just a refune-which was totally awesome of these because it had been opened software. I anticipate buying one from the older versions and running it, hopefully it can work.

I employ a Windows 7 Computer plus the disc wouldn't work on mine when I said in. So I fallowed the instructions that Rob k organize, on another Oregon Trail 5th game Post page here on amazon and yes it
1. Open your hard drive in order that you are viewing the foundation of drive C. Your desktop icon My Computer or Computer will need you there. Get to C: or Local Disk C:
2. Create a new folder and name it OT5. That folder should now have a very nice short directory address of C:OT5. Open that new empty folder leave that window up for the moment.
3. Start a new window to spread out the CD drive folder to watch the contents on the Oregon Trail CD. This will typically be drive D: or E: on many computers. Do not run setup , nor install the sport.
4. You should certainly viewing the contents of the CD. Copy the folder called data for the CD and use it into your newly made OT5 folder on drive C. This can take a minute or possibly even longer to copy over.
5. After the data folder finishes copying to C:OT5, rewind and view the contents of one's CD again. Open the Install folder and after that then HD folder about the CD. You should see 5 files.
6. Take the entire contents with the HD folder and copy it on the C:OT5 folder also.

This book was tragic But adventureous. I felt like I was Hattie. It is about someone who leaves her hometown in Booneville, Missora and heads out west to Oregon. Their are a lots of deaths inside the story but none of Hatties family died for the Oergon trail so dont worry. Im eight and I didnt have nightmares for the week in case I had you been I won't let anybody under eight look at this. they will often get scared. There are great characters like Pepper, Gideon, Wade, Ben, Jake not to mention Hattie Campell. If you want adventure and danger I recomend this book to you personally.

I love dear america books, but this an example may be definantly the best. it provides a good picture in the hardships a pioneer around the oregan trail would have to your book, Hattie and her parents leave their house to go west about the oregon trail. Hattie doesnt wish to leave her best friend or perhaps the graves of her baby sisters. the diary tells all about right onto your pathway, her sorrows and her joys, her new friends and her new enemies. as opposed to some from the dear america diaries, a few of Hatties dreams are available true. I would really recomend this book to anyone, but be well prepared, this book is sad.

This book tells the tale, in diary form, of 13 year-old Hattie Campbell. It begins in 1847, in Missouri, when her family decides for traveling with a wagon train to Oregon. There are river crossings, friendships, Indian encounters, deaths, marriages, and poisonings through the trip, but Hattie overcomes the hardships and grows into a little daughter women.
This story tells history in a very real and interesting way, and I would recommend it to almost all age groups! If you liked this book, as Im sure you are going to, youd probably like another books inside the Dear America series, especially West to your Land of Plenty.
