I bought the energy painter MAX inspite of reading all of the negative reviews around the MAX along with the PLUS. Almost the many negatives gave the impression to deal with inexperienced operators in my view. I bought this to replace my 4th power painter that wore out each year or so ago and I havent stood a need for one as yet.
I had a vintage aluminum awning I was disposing of but a neighbor about the block asked if he could own it. I figured that could well be a good test with the power painter because should the paint job didnt emerge OK, the guy receiving the awning could repaint it. Well, together with the negative reviews under consideration, I dug out a 12 year-old can of Glidden Gripper primer. A very thick exterior primer, and combined some equally old and somewhat chunky Emulsabond. Emulsabond is really a primer/conditioner to boost a paints ability to adhere to weathered and chalky surfaces. I setup the sprayer and tested it with water. I always make it happen with airless sprayers. In case it hadnt been thoroughly cleaned or something that is the last time it was implemented it provides chance to work the problems without wasting expensive paint and in addition eliminates the mess. I dumped in regards to a quart from the old, unscreened paint from the cup and gave it some 30 second bursts nonetheless it wouldnt prime. I added about 3 oz of Floetrol, another conditioner to assist spraying, and tried again. It primed within 15 seconds. I shot the underside with the awning leading to half the very best side and got some globs turn out. I pulled the motor off of the cup and scraped the floaties from the pickup screen, topped over cup and handle painting.
Bottom line maybe it was went perfectly. All told, it took about a hour along with a half to tug the awning nearly a workshop, break out of the power washer and wash it up, put the electricity washer away, put in place the painter, paint the awning, clear the painter and hang up it away.
Very quick, moves lots of paint in the hurry therefore you need to move. Remember 7.2GPH is really a quart in a very little over 2 minutes. You can empty a 1-1/2 quart cup in 3 min.
Decent pattern, even if this job didnt offer much probability to try to many variations.
Overspray would be a lot lower than I expected. For the most part paint went where I wanted it.
Easy assembly/dissassembly and pick up. tip - overlook the easy garden hose cleanup procedure outlined inside manual. It was authored by people who would like to sell what exactly. IMHO, that method will never get it clean enough and you might never get yourself a second use away from it. I just get yourself a bucket of warm water and soap and go ahead and take sprayer apart, throwing all of the parts except the motor within the bucket. I turn the cup inverted over the paint can to get better the leftover paint and wash all of the parts as the cup is draining. Then I wash the cup and reassemble the sprayer that has a few drops of oil on the pickup and overflow ports.
Noisy, kind in the nature in the beast.
Heavy and also the vibration might be painful. I am not a considerable person 56, 160 lbs, 67 yrs old and after about ten minutes continuous use I was glad I was done. I just use these buzz bombs for small jobs, lower than a gallon of paint. If you wish to paint a home or garage, I would recommend a Spray-Tech or Grayco, much easier to use and a lot of easier within the body. I have a very Spray tech with the bigger stuff.
Just several more recommendations on airless sprayers.
Make certain to follow the directions about having a few drops of machine oil from the pickup and overflow tubes. Greatly aids inside sprayers capability to prime.
Always check out with water first.
Use a paint conditioner like Floetrol or Wagners brand dont recall that name rather then water to thin latex. The conditioner contains surfactants that permits the paint circulation without watering it down. To a point, to much of the good thing seldom is.

We bought this to aid paint home. After assembling this product, we tested it as a suggested as well as the instead of an nice even spray, it spit out in globs. The paint hasn't been a paint that needed for being thinned either. Then the suction didnt work. After breaking it as a result of clean, we assemble it again and ran into exactly the same problem. So we boxed it down and shipped it back for the refund, then traveled to our rental company and rented a specialist sprayer to get a little more than we paid for that Wagner. It was ironic that if our issues, I ran into no less than a dozen people who may have had the same downside to Wagner sprayers. I would recommend not buying this supplement!!!

After reading the reviews I was convinced individuals who gave this sprayer low marks just weren't familiar with spray painting, or with paint sprayers generally speaking. Now Im convinced I was right. I went ahead and got it, and also have used it constantly for just a month now and may tell you its perfect for small jobs. It fits the dependence on someone as i am, a broad contractor doing renovations and additions. I put it to use for spraying Sherwin Williams Pro Classic Latex - and that is a paint that absolutely requires spraying for getting a good even finish - on items of trim or molding or baseboards, before installation. You can set down five or six pieces, fill the cup, spray, and wash it up in 10 mins.
This sprayer is NOT for a one that wants to color their whole home. They should invest in a good airless sprayer. I offer an AirTech and employ it for big jobs. The kind in which you stick it to a five gallon bucket and spray for a lot of hours.
And though this sprayer comes using a backpack bucket as well as an extension so you may hook approximately a big bucket of paint six feet away, I threw all that inside garbage can. You use this sprayer with all the cup for small jobs. Period. And forget each of the power settings. Youll wear it number four, the best speed, and turn the volume around the max. That way you happen to be taking advantage from the 7.2 gph capability to get a genuine fine mist, especially with latex, which can be what makes spray painting look nice.
One thing to keep in your mind is that in case you want to color things that happen to be laid flat using a worktable, or between sawhorses, you should fill the cup completely so that you'll be able to tilt it down. If the suction tube sucks air it sends big blobs of paint out. So you've to help it a tad to know ought to stop and top away from the cup should you are working hard where you're essentially pointing down. If you might be painting horizontally it isn't as bad, but unless its something the location where the paint isnt about to run on the wall its preferable to paint things which can be laid flat. At least with gloss paint that you might have added Floetrol to. Thats something more important, always put Floetrol or even an extender inside the latex paint to help keep it running efficiently and give it time to flow out to a gloss.
For the price as well as the ease of tidy up its won.
A tip for clear - I spray your entire unit with WD 40 periodically. Plastic and. That way the paint doesnt adhere just as much. And after the month employing it alternate day it only has a number of specks of paint upon it. But you might have to spray and pour the leftover paint back in the can and go and fix it right away. Otherwise the tiny parts inside get gummed up.
Graco is definitely releasing an 18volt cordless cup painter with a distinct edge over all these Wagners as well as other cup sprayers: it's got a tilting suction feed cup so that it is possible to spray perpendicularly and all the way down and not run dry. In other words, while you tilt the sprayer, the curved feed line inside rotates towards the lowest point inside cup. So you'll be able to go longer without refilling. But that little puppy is 500. Now, in case you can afford it for small jobs, that will beat this model clearly. But for 150 as well as a little bit of effort refilling the cup continuously its a whole lot better deal. And, as I say, when you are doing a major job you need the full on airless, anyway.
For the amount of money I provide it with a five.

I used the Wagner Power Paint Sprayer, looking at reviews authored by several kind souls at this web site. Following their recommendations along with the sprayers own instructions, I used the sprayer to make use of water based primer and color-coat latex paint to my living/dinning room walls and ceiling developing a total feet square of about 1300. It can be a big room The ceiling is textured not popcorn plaster that precludes any use of your roller or brush application.
In addition to following a instruction manual along with the recommendations posted on Amazon, I would suggest these:
1 plan the paint application to stop any breaks more than 3-8 minutes-any longer therefore you risk clogging the system and becoming frustrated,
2 consider thinning the paint using water or additive, even if your paint says that thinning is just not required I followed the additives suggestion 8ozgal,
3 makes use of the back-pack accessory in case you need over a 1/2 gal, the back-back can handle as much as 1.5 gal as needed, allows by using both hands, and is usually held for an over-the-shoulder which I found more convenient
4 stop the paint-can attachment, whilst it looks good and seems simple, will not be stable enough as being the pickup clip slips off of the can-lip and air could possibly get into the line, plus the are equipped for will bite into your hand since you hold it,
5 if stopping for longer than 10 mins clean it,
6 to clean it, completely disassemble the sprayer,
7 disassemble the sprayer and invite the parts to soak in hot water as you pick up one part with a time, and
8 as youve read 5, 6, 7, be ready to take 30-45 minutes for every cleaning hence suggestion 1 to plan short breaks, if any once painting begins, For me tidy up was more than the 10min I found in the Wagner video.
My sprayer has 4 speeds as well as a 10-click adjustable flow control. I used speed 2, together with the flow control set at 3 clicks through the lowest setting. The coverage was manageable with minimal drip/runs. Any time I stopped to relocate the ladder, I wiped the tip which has a moist cloth to grab any paint flowing in the tip.

I browse the other reviews here on Amazon plus the internet before purchasing and chose to buy this supplement anyways dependant on being a painter to the past 24 a number of figuring Id have the ability to work out of the glitches other were encountering. I was wrong! Followed the intructions and mixed the paint towards the recommended consistency. Got a scrap part of drywall to test out before spraying the specific room and glad I did. The sprayer took a short time to siphon the paint through the container and started spitting. Turned all of the settings to maxium and after running it a lttle bit, the flow started to appear smoother. Started spraying the scrap drywall piece and noticed the finsh was concerning the same as being a light spray-on texture or if I rolled it on having a medium knapp paint roller. Took the sprayer apart, cleaned it, place it back together, thinned the paint even more, re-tested it your sprayer for the scrap drywall piece along with the results only became available slightly better. Cleaned it, said back within the box and returned it returning to Amazon. I have a very professional airless sprayer and bought this sprayer with all the idea of it doing your little friend jobs where I didnt desire to drag the top one out. The finish this sprayer leaves, the mess it makes along with the time it takes to fix it, I am more satisfied just using my big airless sprayer. I can only recommend it when it doesnt really matter the kind of finish you've got to have or you might have an outside project where paint drips are not all the an issue. For me, it didn't work as advertised. The only great thing I have to state about this transaction is the fact Amazon contains the best customer support as usual.

Sprays blobs whatever settings you have or how hard you make an effort to work the flow control. Dont waste your efforts or money using this sprayer!

I obtained a Wagner Power max many months ago to create several doors. It took 45 minutes to obtain the sprayer to spray properly before work could begin. When complete I carefully and throughly cleaned the sprayer then input it away for future use toiday I spent 2 hours as well as the longest I could easily get a proper spray pattern was 15 second. I tried every troubleshooting tip within the manualto no effect. So now I have lost per day of work and possess to start tomorrow with rollers as opposed to saving time and work they have cost me more. Wagner does not have any review section on the site nor an easy way to file a complaint so I should assume product support isn't a priority.

This method is excellent. It worked just like advertised. I painted over 300 feet of fence, 2 benches plus a 30x30 foot deck with Behr latex deck paint together no problems. The documentation that has been included together with the product can be quite easy to understand. I used just the paint container. I did not try the backpack or try painting directly on the can.
If the painter has one short-coming, it could well be the cleanup time. It takes me 45 minutes to clean up the painter. Considering the time it saved me over hand painting, its worth every penny.

I have different sprayers of high quality a variety of applications and that i dont determine what possessed me to get this thing. I can improvise with all the best of them this also thing is usually a nightmare. I use several diferent paints and techniques nonetheless it requires an excessive amount effort to obtain average results-the homeowner might want consider before purchasing this sounding too winded allow me to share a few examples: Weight- it's a large motor to compensate for that initial conceptall in a sprayer, thus it becomes a both-hands sprayer. Cannot angle it much without losing suction, it needs that you move your body instead of the sprayer positioning. Noise-this thing is can scare off jet planes-just kidding however, you get the idea. If you actually need to use it to accomplish constructive work you'll get tired on the noise. In case youre wondering i ran just about everything through it: water-ok. mineral spirits-ok. oil based paints - happy with thinning. Latex and Acrylic-that is a heavy medium and you will need to always thin depending for the viscosity. Linseed oil cut as a result of use as being a preservative with a metal parts, rust inhibitor sprayer-it loves it. Oil stain-ok unless it can be more of an emulsion type and then you might have to think differently. ILL stop now; is the correct you get my thought it probably have an edge around the hvlp sprayer in many applicationsdoors and i also mentioned the idea is good: it's got 4 settings the enable you to spot paint colliding with small areas with decent control, but it can be a pulse-pump we could go in to the technical side of pulse along with the problemslatex V. oil and atomising associated It was obviously produced by engineers that will never actually utilize it! I will say that the idea behind its design is right even so the tool is usually a train wreck-trust me!Two more things: the metering valve can be a one-size-no-problem design-not possible. The compression collar which locks about the small reservoir will be needing a inorganic lubricant or it binds following the first time paint is used-this could up your using antidepressants. Its purpose is for being purchased after which used once after which put someplace where you'll be able to never still find it again.

mine was like many more, worked to get a few minutes, then stopped drawing paint. No matter what I did, couldnt get it to figure again.
