Happy New Year folks! In the past weeks, I have worked slowly for the new Android UI Design Kit for Photoshop 4.4, that is a Nexus 5 version, and after this I am thrilled to announce that it's ready! This time it only includes Photoshop version though, I am still working within the GIMP version, mainly on replacing the link layers which I just found recently the writing layers from Photoshop won t are employed in GIMP!. If there is any GIMP gurus would want to help out replacing the written text layers, do make me aware in the Comments section.
This update the Design Kit to Nexus 5 resolution Portrait Mode 1080 1920, with several new blocks added in it.
Other than that, every play blocks from the previous version are included, which makes it the most complete Design Kit currently.
You must first install both Roboto and Roboto Slab fonts before while using the Design Kit. It s absolutely essential. If you doesn t desire to install them, you won t have the ability to use the Design Kit at full potential.

I must say, aside from google there is a best resource on Android. I am new at all to mobile app design so still struggling somewhat to understand. At first i couldnt find any wireframe templates for axure i then cannot know the sizes and setting them up in photoshop from dp to pixels. I hope you might help me get going. Thanks.
Looking at google screen sizes: we now have LDPI, MDPI, HDPI
320dp: a regular phone screen 240 320 ldpi, 320 480 mdpi, 480 800 hdpi, etc
Looking at the psd it can be 1080 x 1920 that is Nexus 5 screen resolution in pixels but is always that beyond an average screen phone mentionened above previously by google or am i doing something wrong here.
Are we still keeping 48dp minimum for touch and 18dp side gap.

The template that I have is for the purpose of xxhdpi, which suggests 3 times of mdpi, that is the base dpi for Android devices. We probably won t cover ldpi anymore and also the assets will rescale itself for ldpi if your app is running onto it.

I have a very question concerning the Nexus5 psd. You wrote it s intended for xxhdpi. When I consider the PSD would it be 1080px x 1920px which has a photoshop resolution of 72ppi.
On another website I read that 72 dpi could be related to an mdpi screen in Photoshop. Is it genuine that xxhdpi should possess a Photoshop ppi resolution of 3 x 72ppi 216ppi or gets the Photoshop ppi nothing to that has a correct export with the different assets?

Unlikely I will update this since I don't using Photoshop as my main design tool Sketch took it over.
I think Geoffrey updated the Design Kit to Material Design recently, although in the Nexus 4 frame.
