I purchased two of such Grabbers and both had serious problems. In the middle in the bar there is really a mechanism to lock the gap in place. I found the product or service to work perfectly for my purposes. I dont put it to use to lift heavy items. I have an upper back injury and cant lift much anyway, even by arm. Have worn the extender to get items as small as being a dropped pill. My 13-yr-old tried on the extender to pick-up trash on the clean-up expedition, and it also worked fine. Had mine each year and one from the rubber feet popped off. I could probably reattach it, but cant still find it! So, Im collecting another one or two. For the price of your couple of Starbucks, it absolutely was worth the money to me. Oh, yeah, folds easily for travel.

Ill have one star since it does reach several things. However it isnt of sufficient length or strong enough being of any use. Oh it is possible to pick up a tissue, some trash, but to actually choose something with any weight or to utilize it above, forget it.
