I have already been one from the people who just like the Ribbon interface which was introduced in MS Word 2007 and contains now been extended to Publisher. I can locate fairly easily most common tools and features about the ribbon and personalize it as required if there can be a ribbon element missing from those I use frequently. There is often a much improved File tab or Backstage View as MS calls it with easier having access to various printing, saving and sending options. Unlike another review I read here, I had no problems whatsoever printing both paper versions of my Publisher documents on both my Xerox and Epson printers with zero configuration. In fact, printing has been enhanced as there is top-level treatments for things including duplexing double-siding- when your printer supports it not having to set a default printer for the document after which go into your Printer Properties to pick out features. There is also a new, accurate and big print preview right close to all with the Publisher printer controls.
Other improvements include better font previews including support for OpenType fonts. I find that layout, design tools are improved too, with better accuracy and display in the alignment of several document elements. There are some new templates and much more available online. Ive used Publisher for around 10 years and upgraded to 2010 from 2000. I definately recommend the upgrade to anyone using 2000. Although Ive used the program for any long time it's been for your same purpose, writing a monthly newsletter that also includes text pictures and is emailed in pdf format. The improvements in Publisher make my job less of a challenge and faster. For example, I can save my file being a pdf and Publisher compresses files and also the Adobe Acrobat Professional program I was using for the purpose. The difference is Publisher is faster. In fact, this program seems far more responsive than 2000 for up to everything I do. Im not an enormous fan in the ribbon interface but I like using one standard interface and also since I have Office 2007 this method provides that continuity. In terms of function, the ribbon makes the majority of things a little easier and many things somewhat harder. That said, I have ten years with the old interface and several weeks with the brand new. Ill adjust quickly. Still the ribbon is often a case of fixing a thing that wasnt broke in lieu of fixing a thing that is broken. Im discussing the help feature which IMO isnt and has now never been very beneficial.
I had no problems loading this software and no difficulties with printing. Im using Win 7 and still have a new to angling computer. I ordered from Amazon. I always have a good knowledge about Amazon which was no exception. Fast delivery and provide arrived in perfect condition.

Ive used Publisher for 12 years to post a magazine and I love this course. However I hate the 2011 version. MS has reworked the fact that was a great program and fixed items that were not broken. They eliminated good tools through the 2000, 2003, 2007 versions to the sake of making alternation in my opinion. The new ribbon style toolbars helps it be harder and a lot more time consuming make use of than the older versions if you want help its practically non-existant. I dont use Word hardly whatsoever and fit everything in in Publisher including advertising design. At present Im also writing a 400 page technical textbook as well as its all being done in Publisher. The reason could be the illustrations, photos and charts be employed in Publisher but dont are very effective in Word.
Ill continue to make use of 2010 but Im asking MS to inquire about the folks who use their programs more before they re-design something that works. Its still a great program but 2007 is more preferable.
