Ive first bought this book when I started my academic studies, after 5yrs of work with Fortran 77 three years of labor with Pascal.

This book just isn't for Dummies. It assumes that you just already have some experience of structured programming languages Pascal. About 5yrs into my programming career, I was mildly enthusiastic about learning C, so I found this book. At the time, I was deterred - that it was very brief, terse, and confusing, so I put it back down again.
But now, years later, with numerous more languages under my belt, I find myself again attracted to C. So I grabbed this book again 2nd edition, and lastly, I begin to see the light! It is really a wonderful book, I agree with every one of the glowing comments people showed about it, BUT! It can be a book authored by a computer programmer, for other software engineers, not just a book published by a teacher for the beginning student.
