I do not possess my YR disc and possess been playing a mod called Robot Storm that needs no disc in the first place. So, until I get the disc I cant get a reinstall.

Well, after several attempts at trying to perform this game Red Alert 2 Yuris Revenge on Windows 8 I have given up within the idea of upgrading to Windows 8. I am staying with Windows 7. The best I have done using this game is to set up it, actually get into your game you need to a skirmish. But obviously then the screen scrolls sooooo slowly etc what has just unplayable. Yes I do admittedly alter the games res to 1920 x 1080 through the ini files but this works perfectly okay in Windows 7. I have also just used a supposed solution with the help of VideoBackBufferno to your ini files, but that didnt help either!

Compatibility to XP sp3 or it is possible to leave it to default.
First time might have run as admin.

Westwood, the first maker was bought by EA followed by, the experience wasnt developped any further patch 1.001 as latest.
MS brought an even better compatibility mode in Win8 and from what Ive experienced RA2 works in the same way in XP.
Dont forget with compatibility 16bit color mode only since the 16bit resolutions were stripped away from resolutions menu.
Youve probably been aware of NPAE extras within the game patch along with the custom resolutions play in HD resolutions in INI : you actually applied resolution, I see, all still preps Win8.
Its just a matter of finding that out.

If you recognize VMware or VirtualBox: I suggest you manage the installer inside a XP virtual machine and, in the end works well zip or copy the entire game folder back in win8 simply then apply the compatibility fix Ive mentioned or you'll be able to even use the virtualized version in XP but I dont recommend this if you're a starter with VMs.

Ive put on the extender on many systems, its considered one of my favorites whether or not its 2D.
There is also a parameter running it in windowed mode using - windowed switch to your executables shortcut, works, but Ive never had to put it to use since fullscreen rocks.
Along the native run in Win8, when you still have problems with it, I can confirm it also works pretty well underneath the following programs on Win8:
Make one from the following VMs and install the overall game there.
But obviously it could well be cool to have it going normally in Win8. Any other questions are welcome.
Make sure you are trying the install somewhere it really works and apply the compatibility settings back Win8 like I mentioned in past post.

Spent an excellent part of yesterday under-going all different options for getting it to figure and nothing did! So Im not wasting much more time upon it. Bye bye Windows 8, Im staying with 7.

This is one thing that works here.
The is probably the most important one BUT I forgot to bring up. Its the main one as well as the ra2md is the launcher.
We always should launch ra2md rather than the gamemd.
First time on launch: as admin for initializing you recognize an error occurring but afterwards dissapears.
This could be considered as being a last attempt there.
Win98/ME compatibility to both exes and 16bit color mode.
If you have higher DPI settings in Windows then your dpi settings ought to be checked at the same time because this game look bad otherwise.
I had to work with these settings on Win7 once.

Tried that mate, still useless. Plays for a crawl. I have even tried installing the 32bit version of Windows 8 Pro as I read somewhere that it allowed to be more works with old software like Red Alert 2 Yuri. But that simply gave me precisely the same result.
Not to be concerned mate. Im at ease with Windows 7 anyway.

Hi there. I have had the Same Problem since i installed Windows 8.
Multiplayer install along with the normal way using compatibility and admin modes tryed every diff combination.
once installed also tryed every diff mix of starting the overall game and lots of different res. i tryed the multiscreen trick in addition, i tryed switching my nvidia card to high end. also tryed an altered file that can help. we have tryed turning my power mode to powerful also.
i've got tryed 16 bit mode tryed in safe mode.
I have tryed everyway possible on windows 8 there is absolutely no solution.
Unless some genius comes up having a patch.
I am so guttered i obtained windows 8 installed if microsoft may add a solution that was working within windows 7 its could well be great.
My Menus are missing with out mouse and often mouse blank screen for the left. alt tab may be the way out.
i dont wanna employ a virtual box win 8 is allowed to be similar to win 7 and microsoft are missing something.
Yes, Ive done all of the things myself now. After endless hours of scouring the net for solutions too.
I still cant assume that I have it working so perfectly on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 it will not work towards Windows 8! I am certainly NOT destined to be going to Windows 8 until I hear about any patches as you say.
Incidentally, I tried running the overall game in Virtualbox etc on Windows 8 outside of pure desperation, and yes it still wouldnt work.
