I was skeptical until this would work well looking at reviews of earlier versions, but the product is user friendly and is effective.I am in technique of converting some 25-year plus old home videos into dvds, despite some in the tapes being deterioated it makes a fantastic quality dvd copy from the tape. I have even archived some old comercial tapes, they are unavailable on dvd and I think this may be a legitimate utilization of this its capturing the signal through the vcr after its decoded the macro vision is bypassed. The product has some problems but works. If you've got a pause within you VHS the program will finalize your DVD to soon. I have wasted several DVDs due to your pause inside the old family shot VHS tapes I am copying. The program should help you decide when you finalize or at best give longer than it does. I just purchased Roxio s Easy VHS to DVD today and was excited to begin getting footage together. However, when I installed the application following the insert card s instructions explicitly, I ve found how the USB capture device will not be being recognized by Windows. Also, I apologize if this sounds like another repost of this concern: I ve used the search function within the forum determined topics which were close, however, not exact, to my issue.

Actually, when I first read these installation instructions from Ogden, I seen that specific image for Add/Remove Programs. I have NEVER had the Roxio Video Capture USB Driver displayed around my Add/Remove Programs list out on the 4 times that I ve installed the software program.

I ve actually downloaded and installed this during my previous efforts to resolve the motive force-less issue without having luck. However, seeing that it's now a bona-fide suggestion, I ve re-downloaded it and ran set up . again.

The Repair install have fine, and I cranked up Roxio Easy VHS to DVD software.

I must admit that, this really is largely my fault.
Jim had instructed earlier to plug the USB Capture device in to the BACK port of my computer. Since each of the ports you'll find full, I just thought how the front ports can be fine not convinced that they are probably hubb ed. So, in the end of these trials, I searched this forum for virtually any further information regarding while using the back ports and came upon a post which I ve since lost that states that BACK ports have to be used and NOT FRONT PORTS.
So, I sucked up and went towards the back of my computer in order to a couple of USB ports to facilitate the big device.
I uninstalled all the application, re-installed it, rebooted I saw the Roxio Video Capture USB I exposed the Video Capture util and saw the device inside the drop-down. Yay.
Because the USB device was from the back of my machine, I needed to plug it in to the extension USB cable. So, I unplugged the Capture device, hooked all of it up on the USB extension, plugged it back in to the back USB port nothing. My computer lost the connection to your Capture Device. Drat
So, I thought I d reboot and have the pc re-establish connection towards the USB Capture device. Upon reboot: nada. Nothing. Zip. No detection of Capture Device. If I stood a pillow, I would have buried my face inside it and screamed. I was so close
But I didn t throw in the towel. Looking inside the Device Manager, I could see that these devices was seen, but Windows didn t understand what it was, because there was no driver hooking it in. I clicked for the USB 2861 Properties, saw that there actually, were no drivers and visited Update Driver. I let Windows get the driver automatically, going against the many instructions previous. Windows found the motorist But it warned me that it truly is Unsigned knowning that bad things might happen. Whatevs. It s been bad already. Let s make this happen. I clicked Proceed, and located Roxio Video Capture USB driver installed. W00t. Started up the Roxio Capture util and simply did an experiment capture of some Indiana Jones thing I recorded when I was obviously a kid.

I m having he common problem as Swatch but using windows 7. I followed the steps he did when had success but that didn t work. Any other suggestions. Thanks for almost any help everyone can offer.

Have you tried every USB port with your PC?
I develop the usb device plugged in to the back from the PC. For kicks and giggles i could all 4 usb input s on back and many types of 5 on front and none worked for your Capture Card.
Does the USB Device feel warm after attached to a USB port for just a short while?
