Although the interface is simple to use it is extremely limited and frustrating to work with. As per Serif training manuals, I tried to draw in a flower. Almost every one of the icons are greyed out. Will definitely not recommend.
Serif DrawPlus Starter is superb.
For a complimentary program you receive a whole lot of tools. Easy to use therefore you even get how tos within your email. I like it!
Some on the tools aren't there on your own to upgrade that is an option.
This is excellent program and you also should ponder over it.

It crashes the many time getting work done in Windows 7 64 bit. There doesnt seem to get any consistent thing that you does to make an issue but in line with Windows its faulting using a Serif dll file. UPDATE 12-08-12: Recently I was required to wipe my hard disk drive and reinstall everything virus - very first time in nearly 18 years on the web despite anti-virus software. There are seemingly all sorts of illustration programs and many do things much better than others. Most digital illustrators help several because no application seems to try and do it all so well. But, I have to say, Serif DrawPlus X5 comes pretty close.
If I could make the right vector program it could be Autodesk Sketchbook, but Sketchbook is usually a bitmap program. What I like about Sketchbook would be the intuitive, simple but beautiful interface. If I could write a software program with all of the features I could ever want I would make something similar to Adobe Illustrator. Adobe merchandise is, for that most part, the heaviest on features but simply so difficult to find out. Seems like Im always jumping through hoops for getting anything carried out in Adobe. Too many options. That marriage involving the two programs, Sketchbook and Illustrator, could be right here.
DrawPlus has similar buttons to Illustrator but unlike Illustrator, they show you what the buttons do after you hover over them. This is incredibly helpful for the modern user wanting to remember what on earth is what or attempting to discover what other functions they might wish to explore. Exploring in Illustrator is often a hair raising experience. As in, I sure hope CtlZ can undo this and my program doesnt freeze looking to execute it. On top from the descriptive hovering, the knowhow just make sense and seemed grouped together in an extremely logical fashion. For example, you lack to go digging around for making simple shapes you utilize a lot, click on on the shape tool and also the choices will there be. I like that a good deal.

Very nice software to work with with a drawing pad. I such as way it smooths the lines you draw automatically. It is spelled out well and reasonably intuitive. There is always an equilibrium between power and intuitiveness. This software does a great job by offering advanced functionality if you'd like it plus an easy learning curve with the basics.

Dive directly in to DrawPlus and also you might be confused. Hey, why achieved it just erase my crooked line, I want it crooked! Later, if we do practice youll understand that this is just among the many effects you may apply to a drawn line, plus a strength of working having a vector graphics program. This Serif product has great, simple to apply effects which make for some breathtaking and scalable images. For example, if you want to try and do a logo and contain it in multiple places, DrawPlus like several good vector graphics program will scale the brand up and down automatically when you resize it, maintaining full quality without the need of artifacts or pixelation.
If you are looking to get more of a fairly easy image manipulation and paint program, Serifs PhotoPlus may suit you best. But if you would like scalable graphics of any sort - say for mapmaking or book cover design, DrawPlus is an excellent tool and easy to work with. It imports and exports many popular image formats also, so dont stress about compatibility.

Great software and with the price Amazon is charging with the Download Version you cant beat it. A Must software for template designers new or old who will be looking on an alternative for Illustrator Newind Learning Center

Still working through it, but it really has a great deal of good things.
Great program! I would recommend this for any individual looking to get a lost cost solution for creating some nice art pieces.
My artist daughter loves the product so much; she may be using it on alternate days and loves it. I can see her improvement, or although it can take a little while to understand it. Read more
The program is a useful one but to register you could have to call and do a number of things. The registration online wont grab the letters from the registration code. s only
