It crashes continuously working in Windows 7 64 bit. There doesnt are most often any consistent thing that certain does to make an issue but in accordance with Windows its faulting with a Serif dll file. Id like to be able to give vid 5 star rating however it loses 2 stars almost 3 for your fact it crashes a whole lot. When it truly is running, its a superb program, for quick designs, rolling around in its price range.
I design websites and its perfect for some simple graphics creation much, less of a challenge to learn than Illustrator which explains why I leave the stars out of the box. However, once the software crashes more than once in less than 15 minutes on the fresh boot, it cuts into the time and your creative process.
Like I said, its simple to understand but I am left frustrated and seriously annoyed when I cant finish a design without them crashing and hope that I have saved a final revision.
Not sure I could confidently recommend this supplement to anyone without stressing the fact its not stable and tripping alone dynamic library link file.

UPDATE 12-08-12: Recently I was required to wipe my hard disk drive and reinstall everything virus - very first time in nearly 18 years on the web despite anti-virus software. Fresh installs on everything including placing data on the different partition. I still need problems using the program tripping alone DLL file BUT they arent as frequent nor is it as many/or repetitive through the initial program crash. I have learned in order to save and save frequently to protect yourself from the frustration.

There are seemingly an array of illustration programs and a few do things much better than others. Most digital illustrators help several because not one application usually do it all so well. But, I have to say, Serif DrawPlus X5 comes pretty close.
If I could are a wonderful vector program it may be Autodesk Sketchbook, but Sketchbook can be a bitmap program. What I like about Sketchbook could be the intuitive, simple but beautiful interface. If I could write an application with every one of the features I could ever want I would make similar to Adobe Illustrator. Adobe goods are, for your most part, the heaviest on features but so difficult to understand. Seems like Im always jumping through hoops to obtain anything carried out Adobe. Too many options. That marriage between two programs, Sketchbook and Illustrator, may be right here.
DrawPlus has similar buttons to Illustrator but unlike Illustrator, they inform you what the buttons do whenever you hover over them. This is incredibly helpful to the new user seeking to remember what exactly is what or looking to discover what other functions they may want to explore. Exploring in Illustrator is usually a hair raising experience. As in, I sure hope CtlZ can undo this and my program doesnt freeze attempting to execute it. Although the interface is user friendly it can be extremely limited and frustrating make use of. As per Serif training manuals, I tried to get a flower. Almost all of the icons are greyed out. Will definitely not recommend.
Serif DrawPlus Starter is excellent.

Some in the tools will not be there because you have to upgrade that is an option.
