I believe it is incredibly amazing that I spent 60 on a thing that I cant even log into to experiment with. My first city that I spent a long time on was lost forever on account of server issues at EA. Oh, and begin to forget trying to have a quick game in if your server where your save resides is either full or busy. I only wanted to try out a quick game, completely solo, and am made to wait and wait and wait and wait. And dont believe the 20-30 min timer. Sometimes even that may be incorrect.
Shame for you EA. For the last a decade I have watched you slowly turn this industry right into a wasteland. And now within your latest attempt in looking to stick to your corporate policy of crushing something that closely resembles the human being spirit, you could have turned SimCity in to a 60 thirty minute countdown and server status app. Awesome.
I spent this money because I still desired to support Maxis. After all, I knew as a kid a lot of Maxis games that I absolutely loved. Still do. But this? Its a regrettable day if your brand new shiny City-Sim game on todays modern computers cant even hold a candle to its 120 month old predecessor. Sim City 4 I have already been waiting in anxious anticipation for SimCity since moment I discovered its existence. All of those tiny little frusrating issues with SC4 would finally get updated, and now we would finally possess the SimCity weve been yearning. Surely, with decade to research and look for what their loyal fans truly loved in regards to the City building series, there seemed to be no way EA could fail at setting up a truly wonderful, classic game that could hold up as being a true joy to learn for years to come.

The an individual that remembers playing SimCity. The first one. Who recalls fondly a childhood of Sim games, spending long spaces of time on my Compaq 486 sx33 living simulated lives in simulated bliss. I played all of the iterations: I built parks and zoos and I even went as far as to adore SimAnt. Anyone remember SimAnt? You were a yellow ant. And Ant Simulated Ant things. I did that.
Over time, as I grew in an adult, SimCity grew when camping. Through every evolution, I enjoyed it. I bonded by using it. I thought of living inside an Arcology eventually, within the distant future. Maxis, you stimulated my impressionable mind and provided critical thinking skills and also a grounded conduit for my creativity.
For all of the years, I am thankful. I even played The Sims somewhat, but became busy being a mature and living a non-simulated life.

Just installed this in my MAC to the app store version of SC4 and I placed the Network Addon Mod folder and also the zmod folder from the plugins folder by checking Library, however, only many of the pieces are inside game. The roads are improved and intersections vary but you'll find no turn lanes, along with the new road and highway pieces aren't there but all of the railroad and mass transit are. Not sure what Im missing.
When you say placed, do you mean that you just ran the installer, or do you manually pull apart the installer archive and plucked folders away from there? If its the second, this isn't recommended so you probably didnt get everything. In any case, Id re-run the installer, and produce sure youre deciding on the correct options.

Theres one or two possibilities. Make sure youre installing the right SKU version of EP1 Update 1. An incorrect SKU will behave like it has patched, but itll only complete the task partially. You can safely try whilst until you find the one that works. Also, make certain youre not having a NoCD executable. The NAM installer wont recognize those as valid patched installs.

By old version, will you be referring to an unpatched copy of SC4 Deluxe Version 1.1.610? If so, youll need EP1 Update 1, which is accessible at SC4 Devotion. Just click the EA Support logo about the left sidebar.

So I took the bait. Even after the many research I did on other Simcity forums from people that played beta I bought the action.
Spent about 4 hours by using it yesterday and I am quite disappointed inside it.
Graphics - Yes it seems very pretty. Even though I was shocked to view the sims imitating lego characters, overall the buildings and houses etc are incredibly pretty.
Modular upgrades - Excellent idea, and very effective. I never did much like the idea behind I need more firetrucks? build 5 more fire stations. Now I can add on the Firehouse and expand its coverage because of this. Works very well for Police, Fire, Schools, etc.
Curved Roads - I can actually produce a realistic looking town. The curved roads are excellent. However they leave problems with putting down homes and buildings with them at times.
Online DRM - I know everyone complains about it. I was able to deal from it. Then the servers transpired and I couldnt play. Is it first day issues? Im not sure but it turned out almost ironic if your servers occurred.
City Size - Of course a tremendous complaint, other reviews mention this. Filled up my entire town within a little over one hour.
Diversity of buildings - Where are the many buildings I want to build? Im talking places like Museums, Churches, Zoos, Post Offices, etc. etc. I can imagine tons of missing content. Were these ignored so EA can market us buildings for 1 each later as time goes on?
Transportation - So far it appears to be all you get are buses. No subways, raised trams, etc. From other reviewers I are already told you'll be able to build a local airport and at last an international one like a great work. Read more
