I want imported files to become saved into folders with the days the photos were taken, and I keep the best pictures in my phone. A common use case.
I patiently waited because tool indexed each one of my photos before doing any imports. I started importing from the few different devices, and I thought the import was working, but I discovered it scattered countless duplicate photos across date folders returning to college years ago. Photos taken recently appearing in folders returning 3 years back. Photos taken six months ago appearing in folders from a few days ago. And it is not just creating duplicates. The duplicates appear within the folder as an alternative to actual photos I took 48 hours ago. What would it did if I believed to delete original pictures after importing? Lose them forever? It even changes the date taken field in certain cases and not all cases, so I lack anything reliable I can use.
What is the next step when you've date folders heading back years, and from now on you must find and remove duplicates returning to college years? The file names arent always precisely the same. I REALLY hope it didnt overwrite old photos. Do I need to compare against backups now?

Absolutely confirmed the imports overwrote countless old pictures. I am really lucky I have a backup and I kept the originals in this little phone, nonetheless its going to get a huge project to scrub this up.
I downloaded using their company website to ensure that I got and untouched file. I backed up all of my files should it really did delete them.
NO problem. Was just what I needed.
The interface is just not very intuitive along with a little not easy to figure out.
Nothing. Despite several efforts to install the FB uploader, it merely wont be visible on Picasa. I gave up inside the end. The capability to upload to FB will no longer exists, in spite of the fake app which has no functionality.
Picasa have removed abilities to discuss, rendering their app useless.

Now I have none of my photo files on my small hard disk drive d:/pictures completely empty, nothing inside recycle bin.

I lost mine three days ago. They said I had to pay for 700. in 167 hrs that went up to 1400. I will not do that. I am reporting the corporation!

I purchase Picasa for decades and believe that it is very good.
Picasa is good but I would recommend downloading completely from Google.
As another reviewer mentioned I am don't sure what's included in a very downloads. Took me a serious amounts of clean out your potentially harmful malware after my last download, and it'll be my last until they tidy up their act.
Always be mindful where you download from and what else is roofed as either subscriber or opt out or hidden.

I AGREE that there is often a LOT of unwanted crap programs coming down with whatever you asked for. It has really poisoned this previously useful site. I keep getting this bloat ware from AVG which even if I use different UNinstallers can be quite difficult to root out. I am now blocking this web site because in the CRAP these are sandwiching in to the downloads!
You must read every single thing it prompts you for while downloading which means you dont get hit which has a virus/bug/trojan/etc. Even so you will discover things you get the may at the same time be viruss. You must go in your program dirs and view for spam programs ASAP to prevent the madness.
I wouldnt know associated with a, as son as I opened it went into spastic auto uploading mode that may not stop. I have countless picture in a number of organized Albums. I only wished to upload videos and I had no technique of stopping this program from just uploading every image file it discovered.

If you could have a little bit of photos it will work fine. It is fast but you could have little control. I safely deleted it from my computer from a short 20 minute ordeal. I hope nothing got deleted. I have not a clue where t stored the thumbnails it makes to view the photos unless it simply uses links towards the original.
