A year ago, my son ten during the time received the supreme Christmas gift - an Xbox 360. In his eyes, it was the to-die-for console - most of his friends had one an only slightly over-exaggarated statement of course, if he wouldn't join the throngs of Xbox gamers then life has not been worth living.
Of course, he only agreed to be dramatising within the hope of obtaining a result - and so on this occasion, as well as desired gift came his way, wrapped up and hidden underneath the tree on Christmas Day 2010. I loved seeing his excited, exhuberant face when he ripped from the paper. It really was obviously a surprise, as he had been told he couldnt get it. But I was glad we'd bought it for him, because sometimes its nice to indulge your kids especially at Christmas plus it made him pleased. However, the longer the Xbox resides in this house, the harder my dislike for this grows.
The problem has not been quite so bad inside the early days. Before he acquired the Xbox, we already stood a Wii, and it had not been too a lot of an invasion into family life. The Wii was kept inside family living room area, associated with our only television, and time spent doing offers was restricted to around 1 hour or two. When the time was up, I asked him to show it off. If he didnt turn rid of it, I achieved it for him. Then he would stop and find something more important to do. Games played inside the living room are typically supervised. I didnt, however, face a lot of resistance - those were the laws and that was the way was.
So, once we first create his much-desired Xbox, it had been also connected on the downstairs television. After the initial indulgence of a whole new Christmas gift, play was limited by a specified time frame, once more. Life together with the Xbox from the house continued inside a fairly blissful manner - my son loved the latest Fifa football game plus it all gave the look of harmless entertainment. His little brother, two at that time, accustomed to sit and see him and everyone was happy.
Only 12 months later, however, my son isn't a boy who will play a pc game and then turn off and do another thing. Instead, she has become a kid so obsessed while using Xbox that I would hardly be blown away if it sucked him away in a parallel online universe not to return. Asking him to abandon his game now results inside a very grumpy attitude along with an argument on the unfairness than it all. Sometimes I really think however make a great politician - in the end, he never backs down and the man certainly can hold his corner. Apparently, some other 11 year old inside the entire world is capable to play violent Xbox games at any hour. We are weird parents for wanting to stand in the way. Apparently, we can't relate to his excessive passion for your Xbox because we have been from another era where life was cruel no one had anything to accomplish. It is perfectly normal to require to spend every waking moment plugged in to some device which has a screen and just parents who go together with this are cool.
So, why achieved it all change? I am sure, with no shadow of doubt, that my hatred with the Xbox began whenever we bought him a television for his bedroom last May. So it is all of our own fault, then? Maybe so - of course, we're the parents. We should have stuck on the old arrangement of games consoles inside family living space. It definitely is an effective way.
But my son keeps growing up. He doesnt would like to play Fifa constantly - typically, older boys do are likely to enjoy games which call for a certain volume of shooting and death. You can buy quite realistic shooting games created for age 12 upwards some in the Bond games are advertised as 12 and dont look much diffferent to your more mature titles. I didnt think it turned out necessarily fair to deny him, regardless of whether I am a woman who not like violence. The main swaying point for all of us was the existence of his little brother. I knew undoubtedly that I didn't want him to become spectator of such older, unsuitable games.
That was why our older son was in a position to have his personal television, together together with the fact which he liked having friends round plus they needed their unique space as did we. We have just moved, but our old house was smaller and we were all over one another when anybody visited.
The presence of any television inside my sons bedroom made policing the Xbox far more difficult. Almost immediately, he gave the impression to think that each and every spare moment in daily life was to be able to disppear into his virtual world. He would even pretend to get reading a manuscript when in reality he most definitely had not been. However the television - although obviously an integral part with the problem - has not been the only offender. It carries a partner in crime that actually works alongside it to help promote corrupt my son - plus it is called Xbox Live together which has a headset.
Over recent years months, experience indicates me that Xbox Live is, for 11 years old boys, the revolutionary Going Out. When my son wakes up on weekend mornings, he does not contemplate going to your park for just a kick about. In fact, he does not evaluate the outside world by any means or even the downstairs world. He thinks instead about checking online to determine how many of his friends happen to be plugged in. He does prefer to meet up with his friends a good deal, but only to try out Xbox. He invites a buddy round to your house plus they immediately rush upstairs to change it on. When I suggest sometimes insist, right after hours, they do something different, they search dumbfounded and therefore are completely can not think of an alternative solution. His friends are merely as bad as they is - or even worse. Granted, from the summer, they may play football for just a bit - even so they will return eventually, hot and tired and ready to try out Xbox. Even if I deny them, they sneak upstairs and undertake it anyway. The Xbox happens to be the bane individuals lives.
I dont think there may be anything really wrong in playing on a video gaming system, provided that it is usually done it moderation. However, it seems like, in this house plus the houses of all of his friends that moderation is often a concept for being fought and battled against all angles. I would just want to state, now, an Xbox owned by one of his friends located an abrupt end each time a very exasperated parent threw it along the stairs and beat it having a pitchfork. This is obviously not the right solution, but I must admit which it has, from time to time, seemed wonderfully appealing, especially within the heat from the moment. For me, by far the most worrying thing about this Xbox obsession is my sons increasing inability to use his imagination and creativity to pursue other interests. When I insist that they comes off a casino game, he starts referring to it instead - it's never erased entirely from his thought patterns.
I recall that, with a similar age to him, I employed to enjoy sketching pictures and writing stories. I am quite creative and writing is my passion - my son is his or her own person and I don't expect him being just like me. He doesnt like writing. But playing online games does, from the end, bring little alive. It is not soul-enriching, it's not creative also it does not broaden your head. A computer game, played on any platform, is certainly not more than a product as someone elses creativity. That is fine, up into a point and for the bit of light entertainment, but once it begins to replace other facets of your childs character then I believe it becoming a problem.
Real self-fulfilment surely arises from following ones true passions and interests and having small goals in daily life. Sport, creative arts, exploring nature, musical pursuits - each one of these can inspire a kid and aid their development when they grow towards life into a fascinating and hopefully healthy individual. I have numerous memories of your time spent pursuing hobbies that I really cared about; of creating up games to experience outside with friends and also creating my own, personal projects when who else was about. When I was young, children did actually know how to produce an idea as well as bring about its reality - this is almost certainly something missing in the life of my son and almost every one of his friends. When the Xbox is put off, instant boredom grips them just like a painful disease. I suppose I needs to be thankful he still likes reading.
Great Hub. Gaming consoles can be extremely addicting. I are already there.
I was shocked to understand that those bond games are 12 or more. That is surprising! I agree they should be for the more mature audience.
Hi rorshak sobchak - you're right about precisely how addictive some games seem for being, plus they certainly appear to act as substitutes for other areas in daily life for some teenagers. My son thinks my childhood sounds awful and cant imagine what I used to complete - I told him that whenever I was his age nobody had anything as an Xbox in the home and and then we were busy doing other pursuits. Although, we did sometimes play games like Space Invaders and PacMan and Mario, however they were only available in arcades. However, still I did discover them a bit addictive - the only real reason it hasn't been a problem was that the chance to play had not been so readily available and also course you experienced to put take advantage! And you couldnt have a great deal of goes within a row as other children were looking forward to their turn. Actually, I would find it irresistible to always be like that, a whole lot more sociable as well as the games were additional innocent.
Not all on the Bond games are 12, nevertheless the one that springs to mind is Quantum of Solace. To attention, it doesnt look much totally different from other games rated 16 etc. Probably has less bad language but nevertheless looks fairly violent. Anyway, appreciate stopping by and reading:
I think your hub is fantastic. When maturing, my older brother had his video/computer game phase where he wouldnt leave his room and was endlaved by his game. Being female I dont comprehend it much but thank you for sharing. Well-written hub.
Hi emilybee, thanks for reading and then for your great comments. It seems for being such a very common problem where boys are worried - to be a female, I dont be aware of it either but I certainly feel it can be a downside with the technological times supermarket live in. Thanks once more for stopping by!:
Thank you just for this funny and well-written Hub Polly! I understand fully your feelings of frustration and regret within the all-consuming Xbox 360 Live. I, too, have had to understand to live using this unwelcome intruder.
I laughed aloud when I look at bit about our generation being from another era where life was cruel with no one had anything to perform! I have heard words to the present effect from my kids a lot of times on the past two years.
At how old they are I suppose I was obviously a bit obsessive about my drums and guitar, but I still loved dating my friends to ride my bike and play comprised games inside the woods and fields.
I hate to state it, but despite most of their cool electronic games and devices, I cant help but feel just a little sorry for that kids these days! They would think Im nuts if I said this, but I believe mine was greater magical childhood.
Hi Richie - yes, the Xbox is obviously a very unwelcome intruder indeed, all the more so right now because he has a entire week off school and keeps sneaking off to experience on it each and every opportunity!
I believe you about feeling a lttle bit sorry for your kids today, I too feel that my own childhood was more magical. Of course, perhaps everyone thinks because of this, looking back with rose-tinted glasses and feelings of nostalgia - but I know with no shadow of doubt we were greater creative and imaginative generation.
Actually, my son did start to learn to try out the electric guitar previously. However, even though it turned out his idea, he gave it up as they couldnt be bothered to train. Ill never know, but I wonder if however be better at persuing things if he didnt develop the lure of much electronic entertainment to distract him from spending some time. Thats not to state that I didnt have got electronic entertainment whatsoever - Pacman became big when I was ready 10 my son thinks that is really a really bad game with terrible graphics. However, it didnt overtake life within the way which the dreaded Xbox does!
Anyway, many thanks for reading, I appreciate you stopping by:

Im a fairly dedicated gamer, I know lite C Code, and Im a highly ranked Microsoft Xbox Ambassador - a whole lot of this I can tell isnt really true almost all is at one time. Remember that your particular stating the progression of the child when he gets older. If he is increasing up or perhaps is going on in the teenage years, the less he'll almost certainly even need to bother along or that which you have to express. The more you show disdain, the harder he does.
You cant blame a Xbox to get what it really is, I have one and do a lot more. Its more how the about the person playing it's.
Maybe, since he's getting older eventually - you need to have him more to complete rather then frolic within the grass? Friends change too and there is a whole lot you wont find out outside your home. If you feel he merely has the xbox also look: Does he have got other things to accomplish when it comes to his interests or possibly he so bored that its the sole thing to accomplish?
P.S Its not our faults you didnt have online games back then.
I read your a merchant account just to leave a saw these people already said some tips i was feeling. But within a more non-aggressive manner: I know very well what your saying. But think of the usb ports this way, just as much time when he spends about it, you are able to push him torward things such as Game designing, graphics design, software he might make his or someone elses game. Are we gamers stubborn? YES! Do we maybe spend to enough time doing nothing? YES! Can we really make a difference? YES! YES! YES! But enough in the Daniel Brian plug. Its not usual for just a kid to like games and end up great. I hope you may see it from his point of veiw and that he can notice through yours. ;
A 14 years old child lecturing a dad or mom on ruining their sons childhood. That has to get the funniest thing I have read throughout the day. I will spare Polly the indignity of obtaining to respond to Josh Culps postby responding myself. Josh as you are play your xbox 5-6 hours daily and benefit your grandpa from 11-6 when do you think you're in school? The reason I ask is really because I can tell from your poor utilization of grammar that you're not finding the education you must. I hope you anticipate working for grandpa for the very very very long time because if you continue within your current strategy you won't be making a lot more than 7 dollars one hour when you get older. Also reduce your disrespectful attitude towards someone of sufficient age be your parent.
I am a gamer too Polly Ive been gaming because the Atari 2600 days Its considered one of my favorite hobbies. I trust your original technique of keeping the xbox inside the living room where it could be monitered and play time might be controlled. Mom achieved it for me and trust me I could play all night on end. As you mentioned there has to become sense of balance in terms of any hobby because there's a fine line between hobby and obssesion. My parents made sure that people did have some of excursions outdoors plus encouraged my other hobbies like art absolutely find it irresistible. Parenting is challenging but you're the parent and when the gaming machine has an adverse affect on your child I say severely restrict or perhaps throw out. There is often a reason the military uses those violent games in training soldiers. It carries a psycological affect on them over a long period of your time it even numbs them for the violence Itt only pixels direct quote through the child above that's obviously experiencing this firsthand. Good post thanks a lot.
I believe while it is usually addictive to many, others it can be a lifestyle and in many cases career. For me personally i consider myself a devoted gamer and am working towards majoring in game design. Not to mention my hub is all about online games.
great hub and extremely true im 12 we dont get addicted a whole lot of if whatsoever, yyes and my mother gets mad and irratated basically spend all day upon it, i get slightly mad while i get started, but who doesnt if u are actually playing for just a long time and u basicly need to destroy all ur working hard, anyway great hub!
yes good point, if it is your passion live it. no to self promote however i review games and focus on other topics associated with gaming. assuming you be considering following me
Moderation, moderation, moderation. I have seen how games can drink the lives of younger people, and youre right, attitude will take a nasty hit from using it.
Parents: take note in the information on this page!
These video gaming really are addictive. I see it around my own boy. We don't have an XBox at your home. His dad has one and once S visits his dad which is all he does-for hours at the time.
Ours will be the go to house inside the neighborhood and many types of the kids desired to gather throughout the television or Wii. Once they learned outside was the sole option, they began which has a great time now spend hours building forts, getting referrals and the like.
I don't allow a television in any on the bedrooms including mine. That presents you with the door to many people other problems.
Anyway, great Hub on an exceptionally serious issue. I hope it is possible to make progress and draw your son faraway from this addiction and into his old self. Thanks, HB.
Hmm, Josh makes all the point for moderation well, 3 x in fact. A bit cheeky that lad, a valuable thing hes got the farm job with Gramps which enables it to afford to buy their own game stuff. Grow up son and still have some respect. I empathize to you Polly. Have a 21-year-old nephew and thats all he wants to accomplish. Isnt thinking about dating, acquiring a drivers license, further education to be able to support himself at some point, just game playing. You know you will discover those who say fractional laser treatments wasnt foisted on young males unintentionally or strictly for monetary profitability. Yes, the final results were seeing now were what exactly was planned. I don't realize, jus sayin since they say.
og gamer - Thank you for your very well-thought-out comments, I absolutely believe everything you say together little goal of replying for the 14 years old commenter, I just know that that's not what I want for my own, personal children. My son has actually taken on karate now and is particularly really excited about it, he goes 3-4 times every week and has passed three gradings in 7 months, it offers been a really motivating experience for him. However, he or she is still pretty obsessed with all the Xbox the rest with the time!
I think you brought up a superb point on the subject of violent games getting used for military training. I hasn't been actually alert to that, fat such games do desensitise the younger generation to violence knowning that has therefore probably changed the perspectives of many in the younger generations. I actually did play games in the home when I would be a child from about 12 upwards, though the technology was additional limited: simple and innocent compared towards the material available today. We had an Amstrad 64 computer with games on cassettes that took an incredibly long time to load! What we definitely didn't do was play them for seven or more hours- as well as for 120 minutes.
Anyway, appreciation for reading as well as expressing your views.
great hub, my business is kind of like this though i really do understand what u mean, when im playing and my mom kicks me off i purchase kind of mad come on, man because u lost everything youve been doing, and to convey im 12 i realize about everything ur dealing with, nonetheless its easy to enslaved by games, but i tend not to play 4 hours straight however 1 hour i still leave the house most from the time.
Eat-Sleep-Game - yes, I be aware that some people do wish to work in the games industry somehow and this is a superb point. However, this hub is fundamentally around the obsession many children have using the Xbox or some other consoles, and as being a parent I can easily observe childhood is transformed by such technology inside the home. Believe me, I usually do not think the Xbox itself is necessarily bad, but I really think children need for being doing other considerations for a lot of their time, only to create balance, get exercise and think in their own business. My son keeps telling me about somebody on Youtube that has made obscene levels of money posting videos about games - I think he thinks that is certainly an easy ride with a high income. I tell him he would ought to have something totally new or easier to offer, he cant just emulate people. But if he does need to work in game design or whatever being an adult, which is up to him and fine by me - however, I still think he needs balance as children in order to grow up becoming a healthy individual.
Many appreciate your reading and commenting.
todays system replces childrens cretive thinking, and natural talents, likewise games they have a tendency to seek cheat codes in person.
We ended up thinking of buying our 3 boys an Xbox. We really werent certain if it would be a good for a article weve chosen to not to bother. THANKS!
Games are addicting, I started fixing xbox360s. I got so irritated using them, that I just stopped playing. hub.
Great informative hub! I have a 12 year-old with playstation, wii and psp. hes now bugging for Xbox. I believe you it changes the
way they view other activity. My sons increasingly becoming lazier. After looking over this, my head is comprised! Thanks and Happy Holidays to you personally and yours!
mw3fanatic1 - I really think by far the most important factor is moderation, not the specific Xbox itself, although numerous young people manage to become addicted quickly. Going outside and doing other items is really important as well as its great should you choose that - life is centered on balance, really. Thank you for your comments.

Youre not an excessive amount an accomplished writer Josh. Reading your comment was like reading something a seven yr old wrote which has a dictionary near by. It doesnt matter how good of any gamer you might be. If you cant read and write you can be lucky undertake a job at goodwill. I wrote a hub called The Destruction of Youth in America that shares a lot in the same feelings since this piece does. Im 28 and I wish I was born inside 1900s because in the way society is today. Its like all things are made to get an escape from reality. Life is way too short for meaningless games.

This is my home also. We are currently investigating options to change things. Arrrggghhh the even brought a campervan. The lack of sunshine worries me, the standing up and playing till bedtime frustrates the hell outside of us, and doing everything to help round the house only interupts his gameplay - Oh no!
Nice Hub! I have recognize that this problem isn't just with teenagers but older people also. I myself don't own a xbox Besides my PC Which i will not game on. I have seen grown men waste days playing videos game. I are able to see how addicted one can get from gaming.

Polly I really enjoyed scanning this feel your pain completely. I have two sons which might be 12 years apart along with the Xbox addiction in your home as been awful. We call it possessed by Xbox. My older son has become a young adult and devotes a good deal of his free time to your Black Ops Saga. For us I have learned as a result with working with my younger son and installed so we use all in the parental controls from the Xbox as well as entirely. This system has helped.
Hyphenbird - yes, I quite agree that it is often a very serious issue, especially because it's changing childhood as well as the entire mind-set of so many the younger generation. Whenever other children visit our house - and this can be - all they want to perform is take part in the Xbox games likewise. And one of the most worrying thing is, as I suggested within the hub - that they can are not capable to think of anything else to complete unless the video game consoles are taken completely out on the equation not there by any means. I think its great that you just havent succumbed for the pressure within your own house knowning that the kids are capable of concentrate on real activities and like the fresh air also. Its what childhood ought to be about.
Alastar Packer - yes, Josh certainly felt very strongly in regards to the points I made! I could have deleted his comments but I think they add to your overall debate very well. Your comments about your nephew also take this hub to an alternative level, showing us how children who are considering little else could become adults who dont would like to participate in other items either. Learning to drive, dating, studying and obtaining a worthwhile career are common milestones that help teenagers grow, broaden their horizons and build a zest for life and good social skills. I hope that the nephew is capable of grow out of the usb ports soon.
Your final comment is incredibly interesting. I had not heard about that but it really is pause for thought. Many thank you for stopping by here and adding your experiences and views.
hoozi - yes, excessive time invested in console games genuinely does lessen the ability of young people being creative, I have seen it quality as I explained inside the hub. Creativity has being nurtured after a while. It also eliminates the very incentive for any child for being creative - they dont wish to bother since they already have laid-on entertainment produced by huge games companies. They have a lesser amount of interest in being inventive as being a way to fill their free time. Kids currently, normally, manage to have a lot less imagination than I remember from my personal time becoming an adult. But this should help you end up having an impact on society generally speaking, when the present xbox generation develop and go forth in the world. The most successful people in everyday life are usually efficient at thinking by themselves and seeing through their particular ideas. I guess because of the cheat codes in person you mean making the easy way out? Yes, youre probably right. Anyway, appreciate reading and commenting.
nicfrombristol - maybe your boys could well be different, all I know is the way is during my house, although lots of folk have reported similar experiences and yes it is definitely a very common problem. My youngest child, that is four now, doesnt really play game titles but is very often absorbed in to sitting and watching his brother. I think children could become obsessed when they're pretty young if because of the chance. My youngest sons friend - who happens to become our down the street neighbour - informed me that I should purchase my four yr old a nintendo ds lite or something given it wasnt fair which he didnt have their own device to try out games on. There will be no way from the world I would ever make it happen, I like to find out him have fun with real toys. Thanks for commenting.
jravity1 - yes, they seem to get so addictive that they can can take above the lives of a number of people, rather than only children. Many many thanks for reading.
rutley - your son appears like mine, we'd a wii for that family, create was are anxious for an xbox and after this he keeps saying he wants for getting a playstation3. I can never discover why they want every one of these different consoles to try out the same games on, but there you go! When I question what the point is, he tells me it truly is so he can have fun with different friends online ones which may have got playstations in addition on the friends with xbox! I think its ridiculous - anf the husband will not be getting this playstation unless he pays with the whole thing himself! I wish I could say it had improved since I wrote this hub but in reality it has gotten worse. Anyway, thanks for reading and Happy Holidays for your requirements too:
mikedean84 - Hi Mike, I think you get it there once you say all things are an escape from reality. Thats just operate is for individuals that play games excessively, simply because they are not participating inside the real world. Its ok, I think, for just a certain timeframe because all of us have to have fun not too I think playing game titles is fun, but I understand why the younger generation do. However, when played to excess it is to your detriment of other suggestions and social engagements so a full and balanced life cant participate in.
When I tell my son that they can no longer use his xbox, he complains that they is actually talking to his friends. But speaking to people using a headset whilst playing a game title can never make amends for real-life, face-to-face communication. When teenagers would rather sit within a bedroom than decide to meet people, every single day, then I visualize it as quite sad. I remember being young and being really excited at gaining independence all night different places without my parents - today, it seems like that many younger people would rather stay in knowning that you need to fight to acquire them out with the house. Thats my experience, anyway.
Thanks to read and commenting.
OrganisedKaos - I really like campervans, it will be my dream to obtain one and take off from it somewhere! Maybe eventually.
But you're so right, the resistance through the kids is absolutely tough. Im convinced my son would play it for hours on end, from breakfast to bed, if I didnt component of. In the UK it will be the middle of winter right this moment, cold and miserable and dark by 4pm, but even inside summer they have to be torn away from using it. I hate that, because I think its so frustrating which he would rather sit as part of his room while using curtains pulled so that the dark than head outdoors and enjoy the sunshine. If we embark on day trips then actually he does want it, however it is just when were about the house how the temptation appears excessive.
I was actually interested as part of your comment because I saw that you happen to be from Tasmania and I was with the belief that children within your part in the world were more inclined to look at an outdoorsy lifestyle. We utilized to have a programme on TV called Wanted Down Under, where Brits visit Australia for a few weeks to use the lifestyle and determine whether they wish to move permanently. One with the points many parents created in favour of moving was that their children will be spending considerably more time outside rather than playing on-line games or watching TV. Seems like it's not always the case!
Joseph Renne - Hi there. Yes, I know you will discover many older gamers who seem for being really obsessed and I must admit I find that difficult to understand. Personally, I cant help wondering what they have to get out than it and what a sense achievement it could bring. But each to their particular, I suppose. Ive also heard about men so enslaved by games so it comes in the expense of engaged in family life, which isnt good. Thanks for stopping by and reading.
I am 15 and live about 16 miles away from town and I have little to nothing to perform usually. Thank god I produce an Xbox to entertain my self I use my phone to try out online. Through mobile place. I bought my Xbox 360 and 30 inch TV. I play more than one hour I usually am on for around 4 somehow holy crap thats along time but it really isnt. some games are made being 45 mins to an hour long. The reason mostly to me being online much is it is the only real way I can talk to my local freinds. The phone signal isn't good and facebook is DUMB! That is all I have to mention.
Hey, before I say anything it really is good to know that your son has absorbed karate. I am 13 and I got an Xbox 360 when I was ready 11 when I first got it I experienced a couple games like Call of Duty and Guitar Hero. Let me note when I first have it I was heavy. I played Xbox a fantastic 4-5 hours daily. After a while I started wanting to turn into a marine because I wanted to accomplish good and defeat evil leaders. Also, playing Guitar Hero made me would like to learn to experience the guitar. I am don't over-weight and I am in guitar lessons. So if it hasn't been for Xbox I would not know very well what I wanted to accomplish with my well being.

Loved your hub. I can honestly admit that whenever I was a student in my age of puberty i got addicted for the internet. I was an AOL whore. And I wouldn't break the net habit till probably four years ago. I can tell that I wasted a whole lot of time about the internet winning contests, along with chat rooms. It became another reality to me. Sometimes I wish I had persued other interests as an alternative to sitting in front of an computer screen right through the day. I could are already reading books, out with friends, painting, writingwhich use to become a favorite of mine understanding that I recently started fall in love with again, and a lot other stuff.
I think you might be doing the right thing by limiting how lots of time he spends on xbox. For those that say that there may be nothing wrong with it and yes it could spark interest in other items. Yeah for any small majority it lets you do. But if due to put around the game to persue it, then it is rarely going to happen.
So keep doing what you might be doing.
