First coming from all, I will admit that I was not really a big fan of Taylor Swift before I followed this album. I would confess that she is usually a decent songwriter along with a decent singer. My complaint was that they lacked originality.
However, her songs were always so damn catchy! Every once in a very while, there would be considered a song or two from her that I just couldnt escape my head. This album forced me to respect her on the whole new level. Almost every song on here could become a radio hit, along with the lyrics show incredible rise in maturity.
Many tracks are similar to songs on her behalf first two albums. Mine is specially strong rolling around in its poppy, giddy goodness. Also, Enchanted can be quite unique and Sparks Fly has a irresistible chorus.
The most impressive tracks around the album, however, show warning signs of Swifts maturing as a designer vocally so when a songwriter. Dear John and Back to December both bear ghosts of Swifts romantic endeavors and are hauntingly emotive. Never Grow Up is usually a gorgeous track that literally brings nostalgic feelings by using it, and Innocent is deeply reflective and carries wisdom. Her words are carefully chosen.
The album is just not perfect however. Some from the weaker tracks, like Mean, Speak Now, and Long Live show an absence of artistic ingenuity that Swift spent some time working so hard to produce on this album.
Overall, Speak Now can be a CD that wont leave your iPod for some time. Youll be humming the tracks as part of your sleep. Bravo! Color me impressed.
