Nortons PROPAGANDA TEAM busy as it ever was AND AS CORNY as EVER - who by having an IQ into double figures will probably believe thats published by a FEASIBLE man:D - theyre even DECEPTIVE around the TITLE - Nortons GHOST like a great number of Nortons utilities from last century was TOP notch - SYMANTEC ironically sounding like semantics - contextual meanings of words phrases AKA DOUBLE MEANING basically just bought Nortons name superior competition and replaced it with one of their usual poor versions thus SYMANTECs GHOST has to be fairer description. On the advantages at least it is not as dire and since much of a RIP OFF of gullible PC newbies than their USELESS Antivirus they have the CHEEK to charge you over the nose for just a signature subscription time and time again when theres VASTLY superior FREE Antivirus unlike Norton Av it lets you do actually detect AV rather than very occasional CLUELESS false positive:D:D:D like Avast! etc

It simply in concert with no hassles. Set it and end up forgetting it. In several years I havent seen the 1st problem with it in a version of Windows from XP to Vista to 7.
Not the most cost effective, and you can find it for sale for close to nothing.
I dont think you are able to beat it. It simply works manually or automatically over and over with no problems or hassles.

I useduse the Norton Ghost to bring back my Lenovo laptop restores all driver softwarewindows XP etc for the original state Very useful if your system gets corrupt. I recommend the Ghost. I have made a basic image of the boot drive into a DVD. I use it to regenerate my Lenovo when my driver software gets corrupt. Restore takes a lot less than five minutes.

I tried using Copy My Hard Drive to produce a bootable Windows 7 disk clone plus it rendered the cause drive C: unbootable! I had to leave out the installation DVD to solve my Windows 7 installation.
I used to backup my XP drives that way using Ghost 12 plus it worked smoothly for decades. No backup program should modify anything within the source drive. There are several threads around the Symantec site with this and no you've gotten a clue. Save your money if you plan on while using Copy My Hard Drive feature.

Ghost 15.0 will not likely communicate with my Netwok Attached Storage hard disk drive from Iomega. 5. RESTORING or deficiency of - Booted from your rescue disk, restored all partitions and around 55% got the please insert the recovery disk message. The recovery disk was obviously from the computer. Tried for two hours different variations just one partition etc same issue. After goggling the matter also known as error ea730002 I found out that there's NO solution for the issue, but 7 pages of logs of very disappointed people that cant restore their system. If you are really interested, Norton claims that the challenge is windows PE platform related this is actually the OS they may be using with the rescue CD. I personally couldnt care less as I cant restore my computer.

The only complaint that I have together is that my HP TouchSmart Q600 is wireless Mouse and keyboard along with their boot screen will default to booting windows vs. their rescue OS - so I were required to find a USB mouse and connect it for your restore not much of a big deal
Although Ghost backs up for an internal, usb external and network drive in my 64bit Win 7 machine, you cant restore on the network drive when while using the system recovery disk. It advises that I an individual need to find and load the 32bit drivers. Symantecs advice is always to call Dell and Microsoft; Dell and Microsoft advise that it is really a Symantec issue. After 3 runaround cycles, I just quit. For the record, Win 7 incorporates a built in backup recovery environment that just isn't as robust, but somehow it's able to get the network when booting coming from a restore cd.
I purchased Ghost 15.0 because it turned out billed as that will work with Windows 7 both by Symantec and Microsoft. However, attempted installation produced error 2738. Could not access VBScript run time for custom action. Four hours with tech support team failed to resolve problem. The technical staff elevated it towards the engineering team who never responded my phone battery went dead while waiting over a half-hour on hold. Finally, I got agreement to get a refund.

I dont usually post product critiques. I am way too busy and yes it is rare which a product impresses me enough to try and do so, but Ghost 15 warrants time. This is absolutely the best version of Ghost yet. It even bests Ghost 2003, which has been my previous tool associated with preference simply for its flexibility. I have used the next versions of Ghost throughout the years: 2003, 9, 10, 12, and 14. I have imaged these windows versions with assorted versions of Ghost: 2000, XP, Vista x86 and x64, 7 x64, Server 2000, 2003, 2003 R2 x64, 2008 x64.
Built-in windows utilities perform a little backup and restore functions, but they also pale in comparison to your power, simplicity, flexibility, compression options, etc to Ghost 15. It is worthy of 50!!! The ability to produce images from your Recovery CD is ALONE definitely worth the price to upgrade from version 14. You are also in a position to create customized recovery CDs. The recovery CD creation wizard automatically slipstreams any storage drivers you provide which can be unique for a hardware. The ability to build VMware ESX and Hyper-V images is a promising feature I am wanting to test. Scheduling backups is a useful one to have not new, version 14 had this, yet not something I utilize much. I mostly do manual backups of baseline and incremental development images inside a test environment.
Recovery CD image creation returns with Ghost 15, and it is better than ever! i installed it to my usb drive make use of on boot up also it erased everything in this little usb that has been fine nevertheless it did not work and from now on when i plug my usb into any computer none even realize its there. appreciate your ruining a totally good usb drive
