Ive been using Norton for many people years, and upgraded NIS 2014 to the version. One of my must haves would be to manually allow or deny internet connection to programs. In this latest version, I can still disable Automatic Program Control. However, a fresh feature they added is when I dont tend to allow or deny in a minute or less, they may automatically pick the default option for me personally. So if Im clear of my computer and miss the notification, I wont know that a program experimented with access the world wide web. This, certainly, renders manual program control useless.
Norton says they'll take my feedback note regarding this new feature, but Im not holding my breath.
If you dont mind having Norton decide what things can and cannot access the online world, than the review isn't meant in your case. For the ones that prefer complete treating their firewall, you could have been warned.

Sorry to the trouble! We definitely understand you planning to have full control of all program access for the Internet. The reason we made this change was because in some instances, a stern warning asking to allow for or block would get hidden under other windows and would automatically block the Internet to this program prior to the alert was answered. This would cause many people who didnt start to see the alert to have issues when they might otherwise want this program to access the Internet.

All the rest was easy. Installation and configuration would have been a walk inside park. This is definitely lighter than I expected therefore far working flawlessly and quite transparently in my trusty old Dell xps410. So far so
Oct 18, 2014 update: Very light and seems extremely effective. Net browsing speed faster and email is actually much faster send/receive than when I had KIS 2015 installed. Im not at ease with deletes of temp files without having audit trail products what deleted. No detailed reports of blocked traffic and tries to compromise my system. Browser add ins usually are not intrusive. Overall still think this can be a good product.

This would have been a switch from Norton Internet Security to Norton Security and my first type of purchasing software by download from Amazon.
Once installed this product seems to work okay and usually be superior to NIS.
However, the download process hasn't been quite as straightforward as it could have been and somebody else might gain from my experience. Bottom line-Enter the item key first about the /setup page link due to this is for the bottom in the page.
