I might go on additionally, on about why Ive given Word 2013 1 star, suffice to state, if I
could, it could be zero stars!!!
What a chore it continues to be, wanting to navigate many to do what must be simple tasks like adding page numbers on specific pages, working together with headers and footers, wanting to find where situations are, within the new improved
Microsoft NEEDS and big-time to acquire real people working at their company, whenever they design new versions of
software, not simply programmers/designers who probably never focus on things like book manuscripts themselves.
And on the subject of MS, hows this for just a laugh:

Theyve completed it again. Screwed around with all the interface for not good reason, caused it to be hard to read and hard to utilize. You cant chose the settings to acquire rid in the pale pastel print that is really a usability nightmare. Im about to download a shot of Word Perfect. We dont just like the mail program that accompanies Windows 8, and Im absolutely not likely to pay for 2013 Outlook within the assumption that it'll have precisely the same problems. Were presently trying Mozilla Thunderbird for email. I bought the true secret from one from the office places.
After several calls and emails, that is MSs response:
I have tried to make contact with you over the telephone but I was struggle to talk to you and also have left few voicemails. As you've mentioned that you together with your wife didnt such as user interface of Word 2013. I respect your feedback but this was an try and make it simpler to use. Changes produced in this version add a sleek appearance that reflects the design of Windows 8, functional improvements, and tie-ins to SharePoint and SkyDrive for storing documents online. In addition, the various components of Office Web Apps improve productivity inside cloud.
In keeping while using Modern style interface you see in Windows 8, Office 2013 is becoming a facelift. Gone are definitely the multiple shades of color that decorated the older interface, plus the shadows and shading that suggested three dimensions. Instead, it is all totally minimalist, flat, and stark-mimicking the tiles around the Windows 8 start screen. The idea is usually that the new look will assist you to focus on your hard work rather than being distracted with the objects decorating your screen. This redesign have achieved desire to - -most on the customers liked the crisper look.

I have this common problem, although its with Office 2013 with an X64 installation. It takes place when I seek to open data in Word/Excel, attach it for an Outlook email, upload it to Google Drive - - whatever.
Everything is updated and Ive tried each of the suggested fixes from everywhere I can find, like the huge list which the first reply listed which appears to be a standard reply that may be posted to the similar support question re: Office 2013.
I were built with a heck of any time even getting Office 2013 to fit on my Win7 computer dont even ask the time that took online having a MS support person set me back the 99 support fee, so a minimum of it works, but this error message is exceedingly annoying once you are dealing which has a lot of different documents on a daily basis as I do.
If anyone incorporates a solution, I know of at the very least 5 other support questions that ask exactly precisely the same question spread amongst this HELP!

Please provide full details in the problem that you just are experiencing and once it occurs. this frequent problem and whatever don't really mean significantly to people trying the enable you to.
It is extremely likely the truth is almost certain the support that you just accessed was NOT Microsoft. There are numerous support scams around and should you paid by debit card, I would have your bank cancel that card.
In respond to Doug Robbins - Word MVP s post on November 14, 2013
Doug, as I said, I have essentially the exact same problem because first poster. I think its confusing to post the identical details continuously. But here you
I have Win7 and am running MS Office Home Business 2013 - - updates are verified to up to date.
If I click on the Word file in Explorer I have the error message Microsoft 15.0 Sorry, something went wrong and Word was struggling to start 24 and infrequently the file opens and frequently it doesnt. The error always appears. I must close larger than fifteen message window - - it doesn't disappear naturally.
If I simply click an Excel file I have the following error: Not enough memory running Microsoft Excel. Please close other applications and try again and quite often the file opens and infrequently it doesnt. The error always appears. I need to close whole body message window - - it won't disappear by itself.
I obtain the Word and Excel related errors if I attach folders to an Outlook message or download a Word/Excel file everywhere else.
This problem has occurred since I first downloaded Office 2013 which, with the way, won't install - - which led to me spending a full weekend about the phone with MS support before I found some obscure driver that needed updating on my own own. It was not really a phone scam - - it had been Microsoft Answer Desk /msusa/en-US/answerdesk. The free live chat people ran away from options.
Before I even called them, I had done all within your suggested fixes and removed all of the add-ins, etc.
In the conclusion I had to totally reload Win7 and Office 2013, run the many fixits the tech people knew of, so I was only glad to have the darn software running.
Its 8 weeks later, and Im fed up with always the need to close those stupid error messages so came looking to get a solution here, determined this post also as many others sprinkled across the community with pretty much exactly the same problem of the specific error messages.
I suspect that because doesnt happen if I open a document from the inside of Word or Excel, that the challenge is something with Offices interaction along with other software and applications like Explorer.
So, Doug, do you might have any ideas other compared to the ones inside your standard post? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
In answer FrancesYC s post on November 14, 2013
Sorry, I usually do not have any other suggestions.
While I rarely open files from Windows Explorer, I just tried in now with both Word and Excel files on Windows 7 computer running Office 2013 Professional Plus and also a Windows 8 computer running Office 365 ProPlus without problem, though admitedly about the Windows 8 computer, it took a while. However I put that down for it being an EeePC 700 net book what is the best I had to utilize a crow bar to fit windows 8 as, without surgery around the Registry, it won't have enough lines vertically to perform Windows 8.
In solution Doug Robbins - Word MVP s post on November 14, 2013
I have just started possessing problem. If I save the attachments for the file system and open beyond this concept, it really works, but the identical Out of Memory error in Excel and also the other different error in Word.
One small pointer - if I try and preview the file in Outlook, it says This file can not be previewed as a consequence of an error together with the following previewer: Microsoft Excel previewer
In respond to JamesGeneris s post on January 8, 2014
Well, I finally found the answer for me. Not saying it can work for everyone, nevertheless it might be worth a go. I used CCleaner absolve to clean my registry. I dont want to mess together with the registry normally, but I was within my wits end and CCleaner enables you to make a backup before commemorate any changes. Plus its a good product having a good reputation, unlike many so-called registry cleaners. I think the key was getting rid of each of the registry entries that called older versions of Office that I had already stripped away from my system, since not each of the registry entries get removed whenever you remove a plan even should you do it the simplest way. I really didnt expect this to figure, nonetheless it did to me. Heres a link towards the place you'll be able to download the free version /ccleaner
Somehow my problem went away for the few months - Im not sure how. However, it made a comeback a few days ago. In either case, I have tried:
1. Every suggestion expressed by Doug Robbins
This is at addition towards the steps I already tried around my original post.
1. The errors only occurs if I double click about the file in File Explorer
2. I get errors when opening Excel, Word or Powerpoint the errors mentioned above
3. The files still open I just deal using the annoying error message and then go through the ok button
So recently the problem isn't fixed.
In respond to SheriAtwood s post on January 10, 2014
Have you tried repairing the Office installation?
In answer SheriAtwood s post on January 10, 2014
I think my only other thing to suggest you check is that you might have removed every last type of any earlier versions or trials of any from the parts of Office or perhaps an Office Suite, with all the Control Panel remove programs function. Then I would rewind into CCleaner and do the clean your disk after which clean the registry again. Be guaranteed to restart laptop computer after you receive rid of a typical old Office bits prior to deciding to do the CCleaner.
I know Im type of clutching at straws here, but I wonder if your fact you may have some old leftover system files from old versions of Office may be interfering somehow? So perhaps checking that all of the old versions are removed, then conducting a cleanup of the hard drive and then a registry clean might clear out that old nasty stuff?
Sorry my original suggestion didnt work - - frankly, gets hotter worked personally I was amazed as I didnt think it had anything to perform with that but was - - again - - clutching at straws, since I was within my wits end like you happen to be with exactly precisely the same problem.
Will keep my fingers crossed.

Ive recently installed Office 365 also it worked fine on that day and i even typed an essay;
We couldnt start your program. Please starting it again.
If it wont start, try repairing Office and so forth
Nothing I do helps, it wont even open in safe mode, what exactly do I do?
Safe mode usually works. Here are various other things you'll be able to try:
4 Shut down ALL Office applications then restart them in Safe mode - if this type of fixes the challenge an Office addin is the condition. Stop them until you obtain the fix. Abbyy FineReader it comes with lots of Epson Printers is really a common offender here, but you will discover others
If you've got Office 365, Check that this Microsoft Office Service is running
If you could have Office 365 installed and activated, and it just stopped running, the first thing to check on is guarantee the Microsoft Office Service is running:
On Win 8 Start Screen simply type Services. It should show up inside Apps list.
NOTE : in Win 8 Control Panel Services is hidden under Administrative Tools.
Once the file is deleted, open Excel and look if the matter persists. That worked great personally.
We have witnessed several reports of Excel crashing once you scroll down, even using a brand-new sheet. The Application Event log points with a crash in
We discovered that no less than one cause on this particular crash is usually a conflict with Avast! Antivirus. Essentially, in the event you install Avast! and open any workbook, Excel will crash in the event you scroll down while using the scroll bar or even the mouse wheel. This issue only occurs if you're logged with a Microsoft Account previously generally known as Live ID.
Unfortunately, the crash will continue to happen even when you uninstall Avast! and run an internet based repair. We have been capable of reduce the demonstration of issues by Uninstalling Avast! Free Antivirus, rebooting, and after that turning off animations in Windows. To achieve that:
In Control panel, go on the Ease of Access Center
Note: Just turning off animations or removing Avast! Antivirus just isn't enough to generate a difference. You need to perform both.
Alternatively, if you've the restore point created before you decide to installed Avast! Antivirus, you may restore your system compared to that point.
We contacted Avast! product support, and also have received word likely working with a fix. They should to push out a patch soon.

I check my graphics chip settings, possibly at some point, Word, OneNote and Outlook got changed to High Performance as the other programs within the suite were set to another thing I dont remember what are the setting was now, but it had been clear the offending programs had matching settings as the behaving programs matched the other.
I changed the graphics settings to check the behaving programs, and from now on everything works perfectly.
I hope it will help anyone else available that may very well be having the identical strange problem.
Changed Outlook from High Performance to Power Saving from the Catalyst Control Center plus it worked in my opinion.

I added the Optional label to ensure it is less intimidating, but I we do hope you will at the very least skim from the points to see when you recognize any specific names.
So should you skip this you MAY miss something you recognize that may be causing your complaint trickey eh?

Several people including MS discovered that using services to automate backup on the Cloud, like Carbonite, DropBox, Genie, MS Upload Center have caused complications with PowerPoint 2013

Thanks for every one of the hard work towards debugging this matter - I just needed to confirm once and for everything we ARE conscious of it and so are working with a solution.
As close to as we can tell the challenge is caused as MickeyMills discovered by any software that unexpectedly happens to pro-actively sync the place where youre saving your Office document. Usually software that can this is setup to monitor confirmed directory or group of directories and automatically copy any situation that changes to another location either from the cloud or on another disk/machine. It might also occur being a result of anti-virus software which also can take locks on files while theyre scanned.
Depending regarding how the sync software packages are written it can often try to try and do this after it detects a change to the existing file in their watched directories - even if file remains to be in use. Knowing this, the most beneficial workaround you can suggest again, as MickeyMills as well as some others described is either to A store your working documents in a very location that is certainly NOT pro-actively synced, or B pause syncing while youre working about the documents schedule backup overnight.
We know this workflow isnt ideal - for those of you using cloud-storage sync clients DropBox, Google Drive, etc so were doing healthy to come up that has a solution that doesnt expect you to change the method that you work.
Cloud-storage sync clients DropBox, Google Drive, etc
Backup software Genie Pro, Synology Replicator, etc
Try disabling the sync behavior or exiting the consumer while youre working around the document and see should you still see the save issue.
If you still experience the matter after trying those steps, please post back here with as often detail as it can be.
As several MVPs have mentioned we the product or service team definitely love issues like this and are also working tough to address them.
UPDATE: Please be sure to install the December Cumulative Update the way it contains a few fixes with this issue.

using services to automate backup to your Cloud, for instance Carbonite, DropBox, Genie have caused difficulties with PowerPoint 2013
I had the identical issue with PowerPoint 2013, and I think to blame is MS Upload Center and that is used to sync the offline files inside background. So this can be what I did:
In Process tab, hunt for MSOSYNC and eliminate the process
In PowerPoint, head over to File and select Options. Under Save, plus in Save checked-out files to, tick the lamp The server drafts location with this computer rather than The Office Document Cache. Then OK.
To ensure the MSOSYNC just isn't started automatically on reboot, then check out Services by typing in Windows icon - search box. And in that window, locate Offline Files and right click, and select Properties. From there, select change Start-up type to Manual
Hope it will help everyone.
FWIW, MSOSYNC is obviously NOT part with the Click2Run version only.
It arises here in PPT 2010 where its component of, IIRC, MS SharePoint Workspace formerly Groove.
Earlier the condition used to occur sometimes when saved the file for the Dropbox folder, although not too often. Then suddenly it begun to happen every one of the time. Every 5 minutes i bought the cant save for the reason that file is read only, please use save and all sorts of images got broken. This happened even though I didnt save on the Dropbox folder when saving for the Desktop.
Then I released I had just installed Samsung Link/All Share. I disabled the Samsung software also it seemed to fix the condition. I now Im to original state where I get this very rarely when saving to Dropbox.

Alright, well, I found panic disorder this final issue: I only had to disable the Bluetooth add-in on Options. I have not a clue why that could have been the issue, but I found it to be a suggested fix here. Now every single thing opens quickly and without error.
Thanks for your help everyone.
o Word suddenly giving me messages about Downloading the Required Feature, freezing up, slowing
o Reinstalled it through the Microsoft website with my product key, picking out the 64-bit version instead on the Click-to-Run version
o Word working quickly without any messages, but became unresponsive when wanting to open old files
o Went to File- Options- Add-Ins- Go- and unchecked Bluetooth.
o Everything usually be time for normal, in any other case better than before.
My concern is if I copy text coming from a web site or from Excel, Access etc into Word all I get can be a black spot.
I have tried a repair install and checking each of the settings against my laptop - where this function works properly.
The problem is brought on by a defective Bluetooth add-in for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, shut off the Com Addin.
o The defective Bluetooth add-in is generally installed with a Bluetooth driver. In my case - Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth 3.0 High Speed Adaptor v1.1
o Updating your Bluetooth driver or reverting in an older version also can resolve the condition.
o Unfortunately simply disabling the add-in from the Word options may result in the 3 second freeze when loading Word 2007. If this is often a problem, changing into a different bluetooth driver version might be the better option

5. Hop during one foot until it sets out to rain.
I began writing software in 1979 and created a lot of capital writing custom aps for Microsoft users; and gave hundreds and hundreds of hours of support some day I said Man, now that you will find ALTERNATIVES open source etc. FINALLY my Microsoft buddies might get some relief with long-term, sustainable, realistic solutions that actually work without dancing during one foot and praying to your sun.
1. Keep your Windows system effortlessly its bugs and tricks and strange behavior. Its difficult to love Microsoft with all the wild curve balls they threw from XP to Vista to 7/8 - which lots of my clients absolutely loathe and so are sticking with XP - but hey - the people in Redmond are doing the top they can to handle an onslaught of competitors right now.
2. I love google - everyone does - we utilize it daily - but anyone who thinks CHROME can be a great browser or Google Docs can be a good way to control an office hasn't managed A REAL THRIVING OFFICE - Ive developed systems that process 400M on a monthly basis and to try and do that with Google Docs/Cloud/Chrome - whatever - is out in the question. Youre probably gonna have to own some Microsoft in there at the same time
3. not Android. You probably have some Android as part of your life - those cute little phones which might be far a lot better than an I-Phone - yes - buy one - I strongly suggest it - but be done with it being much more reliable than many from the buggy Microsoft products.
are probably about to want to have some Open Source Word Processors - like AbiWord, spreadsheets - like Gnumeric - along with PDF readers through bundling these with a Linux platform, it is possible to work unmolested by every one of the Viruses and complications with Microsoft Registry/Virus Scanners and Firewalls that never work with a Real Office - sorry, and once you need to make use of some on the Microsoft tools who do work, then you might have the best of all possible worlds; Linux for production and Microsoft for Lipstick/Paint/Presentations/Good Selection of many tools that really work well or at the very least kinda work and is probably not available in Linux in any respect.
That list is MS tools are accessible in Linux, though some tools arent quite as Glitzy but generally improve your performance and more Registry the other legged dancing.
Its also good to possess a dual-boot system while your Microsoft hard disk drive dies or system locks you out it is possible to get in your data via crucial thing to own that can conserve tens of thousands.
came here tonight because when I typed START a neighborhood web page it opens in MS WORD - not just a? Yipper.
Apparently Microsoft is often a little confused. When a user types START/RUN/USE/VIEW SOME FILE DOT HTM or DOT HTML the whole world recognizes that it should open within a browser UNLESS I type MSWORD
I believe there is some registry setting - one legged dance - I can do to solve what shouldnt be broken, but I just deleted MSWORD and MS OFFICE entirely - installed an Open Source word processor, spreadsheets etc. and Firefox, then changed the script specifically use Firefox to start the Web page since Microsoft couldnt be trusted to complete the job right the new.
There are numerous work arounds to presenting a broken operating dances you'll be able to do looking to fix every one of the bugs which come out on the most reliable should be to grab some open source software and specify/hard wire the EXE file to make use of to open or modify documents which has a script.
Do that product you tend to correct things permanently.
Do whatever else and you're sure to have bit the very next time your Microsoft tools Update without your permission and ruin everything once more.

You are right, if that it was an expired trial the situation would show up in all with the apps.
Just to make sure that, in Word would you go into File menu Account command and appearance carefully under Office logo to determine what is described.
This is so over wall that everything that I can suggest could be that the standard problem solving techniques. Off the the surface of my head it MAY be a wierd addin interaction, but work over the process:

You could even get lucky and locate some other settings that you'd like to try who have nothing to perform with the actual problem.
When I was teaching Word and also other Microsoft Office programs with a private business college, I had three rules:
1. Always check Tools Options
2. When in doubt, right-simply click something
3. If youre wondering how to build a special style of material inside a document, consider whether Word tables are suitable. The placement officer from the school reached me repeatedly and asked how I thought she should set something up. Each time the result was, Id work with a Word table. Windows 8Office 2013HP printing problem - solution, install OLDER printer driver!
Office 2013 instead. I am having complications with Excel, Word and Outlook printing to two separate HP laserjet printers, models 1522nf and model 3015. I can print one file on the market applications. The second file locks the Excel, Word or Outlook program as well as the only solution that I have realized is to seal out of this software. If I restart my computer, I can then print one file before it locks up again. This only happens with my HP Laserjet Printers. I have a very HP Officejet 8600 printer that will not have any problems printing in Office 2013 Excel, Word or Outlook. Both of my Laserjet printers will print anything on Internet Explorer or non Office based programs with no issues. I have downloaded the newest drivers for these particular printers and hunted for any latest updates to Office 2013 making sure that I had the newest.
I installed the printer driver Vista version for my HP Laserjet 1522 which fixed the situation with the SpoolingCache downside to Office 2013. Best Buy and HP via phone could hardly come up using this answer. Thanks again!
have latest version of Office 2013 installed Windows 7-32bit. I can only print just once one print job sent from any Office app, if I try printing again sending another print job on the printer from precisely the same office app or maybe non-office apps like Adobe PDF the work gets stuck spooling, never progresses or prints. I can only print again if I reboot my computer, and only once if I print from an Office 2013 app.
I have confirmed this can be an Office 2013 bug because I have Office 2010 still installed and so the very same document will print about the same printer fine and I can print after that all right. So once I make an effort to print from any Office 2013 app, printed spooler hangs.
After the condition occurred again though I disabled Windows Defender, I have now confirmed it may be the Printer driver HP MFP printer. I determined this by starting a virtual printer and was competent to print with it consistently without the need of problem. Interestingly, that printer was one through the Windows 7 normal selections and in all probability older compared to the printer I am looking to print to. Unfortunately HP has not yet updated my printers driver since 2009 and I doubt they are going to at now. I still don't realize what has changed in Office 2013 vs. 2010 that might cause a working printer driver to have this issue.

I have solved the issue, but forgot into the future on here and say how!
After playing about using the various options in Word I finally tried turning from the start screen that appeared when I started Word.
Not sure why, but since its turned off and also a blank document opens without delay I can now type in a blank document again.

I also have encountered this frequent problem. Microsoft Word 2013 on Windows 7. It is fully activated and not over a trial.
Same could open previously saved documents and type into them was only the new documents that may not allow me to type. Just a similar pinging sound anytime you touched a key around the keyboard.
I tried Stephens solution and turned away from the start up screen in the event the application launches as well as all fixed. Pretty weird, but Im glad someone found a reply.

Could you confirm, do you think you're talking about the Startup dialog that shows loading progress, or perhaps the Backstage Pane showing all with the template alternatives for new documents.
