When I tried this Olympus Tough 8000, I was excited to obtain back into Olympus. Unfortunately, they are much more proprietary than before. The USB cable is Olympus Proprietary also it also should be used to charge your camera since there is no seperate charger included. So much for charging any additional proprietary battery power while using you! There is no media included with you but there is an adapter that will enable the user to work with MicroSD cards. This is what tempted me to attempt Olympus again. Unfortunately they punish you for not using xD media by not allowing the Panoramic feature to work plus the higher res videos are tied to 10 sec if you do not use xD media. So you purchase xD media anyway.
The pictures, I am sad to report, usually are not great taken indoors. They have a wide range of noise despite tinkering while using settings and while using flash. While I am a technical guy, I dont desire to spend a lot of time fiddling with you when I am goofing off just to acquire an acceptable shot. I just wish to shoot finished . and get something usable. I did realize though that with all the automated panorama mode would not work too well so alot with the time it had to become done manually while using second panorama option which permits you to setup the place that the pictures end and commence. Auto works alot but sometimes not the way you would like it to ensure mode permits you to decide what you need. Further while I failed to use it underwater persay I did jump right into a steam vent and your camera still shot amazing afterwards. Had being around 110 along with the water just condensed about the screen but nothing inside thankfully. I read the primary review which seemed a lttle bit off as I found it on other sites maybe theyre registed over a few so I needed to post my personal.
Well I am going over a vacation a person can have to hawaii and I figured have you thought to pull out the many stops and get a top with the line waterproof camera. Basically another camera that I could subjected to the ringer without worrying about dropping it in sand, taking in to a waterfall and another that could try taking some nice pictures.
