For me, I was seeking something to edit my 1080p HD videos QuickTime MOV H364 files from my Canon SX1 IS camera on my own new Windows 7 64-bit laptop. I downloaded Adobe Premiere Elements 8, Corel Video Studio X2, Cyberlink Power Director, Sony Vegas 9, and Pinnacle Studio HD Ultimate 14.
Out of the group, Adobe and Sony can't playback the source videos in preview mode without freezing Im managing a 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo with 8GB RAM, so my technique is fully capable. Corel and Cyberlink did better and may even playback the files, but I found their UIs a little confusing to work with personal preference- not knocking their features.
For my tastes, Pinnacle was the only real editor that can play my videos in preview mode easily, a nice intuitive interface yet another easy meal to initially decide without reading plenty of manuals but, its nice to recognise that they use a VERY large assortment of free help videos and files on their site to teach me information later.
The Pinnacle audio editing tools also seemed better than the other editors- easy to set cut-in/cut-out points for audio and hang fade in/fade out points between video audio track along with a music track.
Finally, starting titles and transitions seemed to be a really easy drag and drop process.
The only shortfall that Ive found until now is rendering time. It usually render much slower than some of additional editors at the very least the trial version does. versions of your software? Pinnacle never gave a suggestion that
a mature version really needs to be kept.
Furthermore, despite the presence of older versions, you can not recover
everything for Studio 14. For example, I had already paid
for two plugins often known as Heroglyph and Adorage. Even
though I re-installed Studio versions 11 and 12, I was
unable for getting these two plugins activated. I contacted
Pinnacle. They asked about to repay of these plugins! Thats
absolutely unacceptable.
