The installation process is similar to flying blindfolded searching for a needle inside a haystack. Addendum: Program has stopped being accessible, leaving me using a dozen different packages and a couple of add-ons constantly sending up alerts throughout the W8 start-up alert system. I just finally uploaded my review saying I wouldnt add it whether or not this removed itself again. Well, cest la vie. Au revoir DAZ.

Before you buy this device please see the following. People have been creating a lot of issues with previous releases of Poser and windows updates. I am a poser pro 2012 user and possess found that
Smith Micro just about leaves you on your own personal once a fresh version with their software happens.
Now the fundamental problem is that Smith Micro isn't going to support Windows 8.1 and Poser Pro 2012. For most the windows 8.1 upgrade turn off poser. I was able to get a work a around partial. They released Poser Pro 2014 slightly over four weeks after I purchased Poser Pro 2012. I bit the bullet on any particular one. I thought they can supply updates on their earlier products.no If you choose to do a search you will see that there reply is because do not feel obligated once a whole new software version is released. Well Poser Pro 2014 is off my list since windows can be a very update intensive program.

Dont waste your hard earned dollars. The new poser pro can be so full of bugs you'll need to call an exterminator. And whatever you choose to do, DO NOT UPGRADE TO GAME DEV IF YOU PLAN ON DISCONNECTING FROM THE INTERNET.
I paid over 500 for your retail package and upgrade. The thing had issues out of the box. Freezing, not loading, parameter dials freezing and disappearing. Permission issues. Activation issues.
Smith Micro tech/support is often a bigger joke than microsoft. They want us to try their software for the children, and pay with the privilege.
IMO that you are better off while using older e-frontier version of poser before Smith Micro messed all of it up.

Ive been a user with the Poser class of software since version 6, which I picked up to help you me practice my figure sketching, and been addicted to 3D digital artwork since.
This could be the first Pro version of the software program Ive owned, and I must say, I like it. At first I didnt see much difference inside way this system worked from Poser 10, and wasnt floored with the improvements in rendering speed I thought Id see going through the 32 bit on the 64 bit version. But its very stable, and makes for many more characters or 3D objects when developing scenes. Poser 10 had an upper limit about the amount of memory that it was able to work with at about 3GB. The pro version allows me make use of all 8GB I have installed in my machine.
I wasnt able to work with the animation features effectively with all the P10 version, but Ive been trying Pro as well as its much more workable and doesnt go on a ridiculous amount of time for you to produce a product. Even with my experience with all the product, I can tell there is far more it is competent at, and Ill probably purchase some from the video courses on the market to learn how make use of more of its features.
The Pro version also comes using a background renderer, which permits you to produce multiple images using background processing because you continue to focus on scenes. This is very helpful, and it has boosted my productivity significantly.
Im unsure how helpful this review is going to be, since Im a longtime fan with the product, but when you are a user with the non-Pro versions, or of many of Posers competitors, Id recommend obtaining a copy of the application, especially if you'll be able to wait for one in the frequent sales or half-off promotions.

This would be the worst software ever.
it's NEVER worked even once. The library wont load. I have a very current fast premium computer.
I have already been going back and forth with support for more than a year and they also keep saying perform same things again and again. It didnt work initially they said it and it also didnt work the next 15 times.
So I said fine, forget it, produce a refund and they also said sorry, no can perform, you passed the 1 month.
Daz Studio Pro uses a similar architecture and is also FREE! So is Blender. And quess what? They WORK!!
