I bought the game for my 11 and 14 years old siblings after I read a great review at Little did I realize how fun farmville would be. I first considered Crazy Machines, but chose to not buy it because I wasnt SURE that my children would enjoy at that cost, it wasnt well worth the gamble. Then I found this and figured it had been worth it.
I have a very 6, 5 and 3 yr old. The older two find it irresistible. They enjoy watching 1 another play it too and wish to work together to assume things out. The thing that makes the game workable for the kids is that all with the instructions get verbally too as visually, and you could press control button to hear the instructions again. That means that even non-readers can follow instructions and play - - and just what a great lesson in listening CAREFULLY to instructions!

We just bought the PC game Return of The Incredible Machine Contraptions for your now 6 year-old son. It is perfect! He just loves making his very own inventions a la Rube Goldberg, particularly when it involves lasers and cats - oh wait, thats my spouse! He is enjoying the game as much as, if not more, than my son! The game gives its instructions verbally too as in print so even nonreaders figure things out quickly. There are levels for many who like solving puzzles and free play for that creative mind. Our game occasionally freezes, I are unsure if thats common using this type of version or perhaps our computer. For a 10-years old game it's fantastic. I originally played this game from the late 90s so I am super impressed it still preps todays computers although we guaranteed to buy the version that arrived on the scene later.
I would highly recommend farmville to anybody, young or old, who enjoys putting things together and making things they like blowing up cats with laser guns!
