Windows Live Movie Maker about the same computer continues to be remarkably stable. Ive created 18 mintue HD videos while using the same size and volume of clips Im using in Vegas. Lots of transitions and video effects. I doubt it crashed a good single time. What it did not do it well was sync the actual MP3 music track with film files. When previewing during editing, the background music would play back several seconds from which it could well be if it were started through the beginning from the song instead of in the middle. That makes timing transitions with all the music extremely difficult when you rewind to repeat a portion youve built. At least I could finish the project within the end. FWIW, WLMM was competent to keep things synced if still pictures were used as opposed to video. That was very stable and reliable.
Neither software program is perfect but Id should give the nod to Window Live Movie Maker. Vegas is normally unusable together with the consistent and frequent crashes.
