I think it is incredibly incredible that I spent 60 on an issue that I cant even log into to experience. My first city that I spent a little while on was lost forever on account of server issues at EA. Oh, and begin to forget trying to get a simple game in whenever your server where your save resides is either full or busy. I only wanted to experiment with a quick game, completely solo, and am expected to wait and wait and wait and wait. And dont believe the 20-30 min timer. Sometimes even which is incorrect.
Shame you EA. For the last several years I have watched you slowly turn this industry in to a wasteland. And now within your latest attempt in seeking to stick in your corporate policy of crushing something that closely resembles a persons spirit, you could have turned SimCity right into a 60 thirty minute countdown and server status app. Awesome.
I spent this money because I still desired to support Maxis. After all, I grew up that has a lot of Maxis games that I absolutely loved. Still do. But this? Its a regrettable day once your brand new shiny City-Sim game on todays modern computers cant even hold a candle to its 120 month old predecessor. Sim City 4 I are actually waiting in anxious anticipation for SimCity ever since the moment I stumbled on its existence. All of those tiny little frusrating elements of SC4 would finally get updated, and that we would finally possess the SimCity weve been having dreams about. You killed the little one inside me.
The one that remembers playing SimCity. The first one. Who recalls fondly a childhood of Sim games, spending countless hours in this little Compaq 486 sx33 living simulated lives in simulated bliss. I played all of the iterations: I built carnivals and zoos and I even went in terms of to adore SimAnt. Anyone remember SimAnt? You were a yellow ant. And Ant Simulated Ant things. I did that.
Over time, as I grew straight into an adult, SimCity grew with me at night. Through every evolution, I enjoyed it. I bonded along with it. I thought of living in an Arcology some day, inside the distant future. Maxis, you stimulated my impressionable mind and provided me with critical thinking skills along with a grounded conduit for my creativity.
For all of the years, I am thankful. I even played The Sims a lttle bit, but became busy being a grownup and living a non-simulated life.
