After using cakewalk software for many years I had to finally let go with the hopes how they would create goods that worked properly.
For approximately 5 years, each release would have been a total nightmare because its rich in bugs. There are different methods to set-up the software determined by different machines. A user must trouble shoot problems and have it working away at their system. Even after that, you can still find too many work-arounds instructed to use the program. Also, A LOT of bugs happens to every aspect of any area you attempt to work in, its really terrible and keeps a person from making progress on music.
I don't recommend cakewalk products to anyone seeking a DAW.
New releases are actually beta-releases. Users may pay for a brand new version then discover bugs and post them for the cakewalk user forum.
This is absolutely poor approach to treat customers. After enough bugs are reported for the forum, cakewalk issues patches for your release and after the hotfix or 2-3 then two additional updates, they think of it as done. This is where they need to be once the customer first buys the software program.
They cant release quality code given that they dont know what real tests are.
Not among their employees is definitely an actual software tester, theyre all developers performing usability testing.

Since its introduction for a packed presentation throughout the CSUN conference in Los Angeles inside year 2000, CakeTalking is different the lives of all types of blind musicians from students who are able to now independently record and mix their song demos as well as other audio productions, to working experts who produce entire album projects for clients who reimburse them a competitive hourly rate for his or her production services. During that ground-breaking CSUN presentation, CakeTalkings creator, David Pinto, invited four of his blind students to demonstrate how they use Cakewalk with CakeTalking. In one short hour a passionate audience witnessed the subsequent:
A six-year-old girl recorded and orchestrated the Spinning Song for piano, french horns, flutes and percussion.
A college undergraduate recorded a melody and displayed it in staff notation.
An eighteen-year-old composed a theme to get a news program including a fade for your announcer.
A fourteen-year-old recorded the piano, guitar and bass parts on her own song after which recorded herself singing the lead vocal and three harmony parts.
I have gone from as being a lost blind musician by incorporating creative thinking into a now enthusiastic blind musician using a vigor to accomplish everything that I can with my recording system. Without the invention of CakeTalking, this wouldn't be possible. I thanks a lot, sir!

I was updating Win7 the other day while I slept. When I woke, I restarted my machine, and everything hasn't been ok. Sonar X1 was behaving erratically. I couldnt obtain it to save properly. My song file became corrupted, plus the computer would hang if I attempted to shut down this program. Basically, I was watching a lot in the behavior that others have posted within the forum. I went for the update install list, and there would be a catagory higher than the regular updates, and they also were all installed the other day. They all had to do with Framework 4 Client Profile, so I deleted all things in that upper category, and left all of the regular updates alone. Sonar now runs perfectly, similar to it did before. Wanted to post this in the event that anyone else ran into the problem and so they could do a search for your info.

It seems like just an add on to the framework with regard to added functionality. It wasnt placed on my comp until the other day, so I believe everything will run fine. Maybe so programs can run using Win7 that are suitable for Win8? Ill admit that I are unsure exactly what it does, but I are aware that my comp/daw was broken if this was installed, and from now on it works fine. Thats good enough to me. If anyone knows of why it might be critical to install, please chime in.

4 Client Profile works here perfectly with SONAR. I havent heard someone else using my SONAR add-on Duckbar requires and 4 Client Profile reporting any issues. Yout problem may be inside update process, not inside the framework itself.
Not suited to uninstall, applications which might be written framework 4 demand it. If it really is installed chances are it really is needed for some app.
I suspect 4 installation got corrupted if Mr Order re installs it and runs Windows update afterwards I suspect everything is going to be fine.

Just carry on Microsoft forums and pay attention to can even corrupt all your Windows installation and forestall even Office doftware from completing Thoushands of users have hated this problem. The only so-called solution made available from MS would be to and reinstall it or newer But this worked for nobody. This is really a problem reported since Office 2007 at the very least thus many still under Win XP, not resolved after almost 6 years. The only ones who are actually able to solve the challenge did by having a complete clean Windows 7 reinstall. I choosed instead to go time for Office 2003!

4.0 stuff kills Sonar.
I accidentally installed it when I recently did a format/fresh install of my OS and my DAW won't run right along with it. It never did, however its been that long since I did an innovative install, I forgot about 4 crap and installed it.
Oh well, time and energy to again.
Honestly, they are DAWs. They shouldnt be for the net, period. Doing each one of these updates is often a waste of time unless we actually see something from Cakewalk that claims, hey, this can be broken, accomplish this update and it can fix it. To date, Ive never witnessed that. the next occasion I format, Im not conducting a single update plus the DAW has never been going to begin to see the internet.

With all due respect, if everyone needs to get a developer and IT expert to perform a program, then someone in existence missed the ; You could possibly be right about some things, but I can let you know after a large number of times using the steps you suggested that it isn't going to work. For me, and many more. Ive wasted dozens and a multitude of hours searching, trying, writing, removing, repairing, reinstalling - but I failed to want to waste additional time with reinstalling Windows with everything that it involves. If I elect to upgrade to Win 8 then probably Ill chosse the clean install route. You are raising something interesting though, in regards to a folder inside the Windows directory: thats one I never seeked for and I admit: have no idea what to search - I had read something about this might are actually the remainings of your previous Office installation. That being said, I also admit I never experienced issues with SONAR though I had weird things like impossible to update Pro Tools 9, for the purpose hours - again - never solved the matter. After hours of troubleshooting with Avid, they found around was one other in North America with this same issue - go figure in the event it might also be associated with that story.? Dont know. Ended out using PT only under Mac OS X since

Nope Im saying as a way to diagnose a challenge and blame something you need to create something technical instead of point to something and blame it, it could possibly easily be something else high could definitely be another solution.
To declare that every-time they 4 it screws their machine up clearly points to a different issue in my opinion, far
The last poster said he doesnt would like to connect for the internet fair enough. Somebody else however might say I BLAME THE INTERNET! And then try to back this by stating thousand have used the web and it crashed their machines. So you see what I mean, you need for being specific when you do the finger pointing. Look in logs, attempt repairs, check your disk drive. Most non-experts should be competent to handle it being honest as long as they take time and energy to google, so I apologize for sounding somewhat snobbish.
For instance maybe it may be firewall type software was blocking application communication with another app. The fact that Sonar does NOT run here also seems somewhat strange. Why are you installing inside first place? Well because theres something else entirely running on it which you are not show about. That could be something thats interfacing using your etc etc.
Theres a larger picture in the office here.

My exposure to issue genuinely is that every once inside a while, Microsoft incorrectly stages its updates. Its an issue using the logic inside the Update service within Windows.
Now, 99.999% in the time, in the event you leave youre computer alone and merely let it automatically apply updates, youre never gonna have a problem. but selective install or de-install certain services or among then, and there is usually a small chance youll encounter a challenge. As an personal example, I had complications with a clean install of Windows 7. After the install as well as the hours long cycle of letting apply group after list of updates, it begun to fail to use certain updates. The solution was to share with the system to ignore/hide those updates, so so it continue on. At a later point, I was able to utilize those failing updates. The whole point is, if MS can get obtain the order of dependencies wrong, it can receive the wrong ones too.
Thank you for all you info. I did employ a couple of updates fail, then when I was experiencing difficulity, one thing I did was return and reinstall those updates. That just made things more unstable. So far, I havent encountered any complications with my audio programs. Sound Forge uses framework, and it also runs okay, so Im assuming its employing an older version. I surf the world wide web using my studio comp, rrmprove my progs, but I dont play games or do anything whatsoever else by it. So, for the moment, Im about to leave it alone. If it truly does work, then Im not about to mess along with it.
From what Ive read, the consumer profile is often a cut down version on the full framework, and it is main purpose is made for tablet devices. I dont use tablets, or maybe connect my phone towards the comp.

Just continue Microsoft forums and pay attention to can even corrupt all your Windows installation and stop even Office doftware from completing Thoushands of users have were unsatisfied with this problem. The only so-called solution available from MS should be to and reinstall it or newer But this worked for nobody. This is usually a problem reported since Office 2007 a minimum of thus many still under Win XP, not resolved after almost 6 years. The only ones who have already been able to solve the situation did via a complete clean Windows 7 reinstall. I choosed instead to go time for Office 2003!
All this to convey: if this type of MS crap damages even MS flagship suites, just go know what it can caused by non-MS

Been programmer because it began. Never had a concern. Once inside the early days I had a worry cache which can be a simple matter of getting rid of a folder in the Windows folder. The only thing a manifest can effect is application. I suspect these complaints are away, but because some apps are powered by it everybody blames framework can corrupt like every application, even office which accustomed to corrupt regularly in the infancy prior to it required NET framework libraries even existed.
As thousands apparently had the situation that must have already been some survey. Guess these were developers and IT pros who knew whatever they were referring to ;. Microsoft is constantly on the transfer its codebase for a good reason.

4.0 stuff kills Sonar.
I accidentally installed it when I recently did a format/fresh install of my OS and my DAW won't run right from it. It never did, nonetheless its been such a long time since I did a brand new install, I forgot about 4 crap and installed it.
Oh well, time and energy to again.
Honestly, they are DAWs. They shouldnt be within the net, period. Doing each one of these updates is really a waste of time unless we actually see something from Cakewalk that claims, hey, this really is broken, do that update and it's going to fix it. To date, Ive not witnessed that. the next occasion I format, Im not carrying out a single update plus the DAW isn't going to view the internet.
I pulled the actual top off Elvis, filled Fred as much as his pelvis, yaba daba do, the King has disappeared, and for that reason are you.

With all due respect, if everyone needs to become a developer and IT expert to own a program, then someone available missed the ; You might be right about some things, but I can let you know after many times while using the steps you suggested that it isn't going to work. For me, and many more. Ive wasted dozens and a multitude of hours searching, trying, writing, removing, repairing, reinstalling - but I didn't want to waste added time with reinstalling Windows with that it involves. If I choose to upgrade to Win 8 then probably Ill chosse the clean install route. You are raising something interesting though, in regards to folder inside Windows directory: thats one I never seeked for and I admit: don't realize what to search - I had read something concerning this might are already the remainings of any previous Office installation. That being said, I also admit I never experienced issues with SONAR though I had weird stuff like impossible to update Pro Tools 9, in which hours - again - never solved the situation. After hours of troubleshooting with Avid, they found around was one other in North America achievable same issue - go figure if might also be linked to that story.? Dont know. Ended out using PT only under Mac OS X since

Nope Im saying so that you can diagnose a worry and blame something you need to think of something technical in lieu of point to something and blame it, it could actually easily be something else where there could be another solution.
To point out that every-time they 4 it screws their machine up clearly points to a different issue with me, a long way away
The last poster said he doesnt need to connect towards the internet fair enough. Somebody else however might say I BLAME THE INTERNET! And then try and back up by stating thousand have used the world wide web and it crashed their machines. So you see what I mean, you need being specific prior to deciding to do the finger pointing. Look in logs, attempt repairs, check your hard disk drive. Most non-experts should be capable of handle it to become honest whenever they take time for it to google, so I apologize for sounding slightly snobbish.
For instance maybe it might be firewall type software was blocking application communication with another app. The fact that Sonar does NOT run here also seems just a little strange. Why are you installing from the first place? Well because theres something different running on it that you just are not show about. That could be something thats interfacing using your etc etc.
Theres a larger picture at the job here.

My exposure to issue honest safe music downloads is that every once in the while, Microsoft incorrectly stages its updates. Its an issue using the logic inside the Update service within Windows.
Now, 99.999% on the time, in case you leave youre computer alone and let it automatically apply updates, youre never likely to have a problem. but selective install or de-install certain services or among then, and there is often a small chance youll encounter a concern. As an personal example, I had difficulties with a clean install of Windows 7. After the install as well as the hours long cycle of letting apply group after number of updates, it started to fail to make use of certain updates. The solution was to inform the system to ignore/hide those updates, so it continue on. At a later point, I was able to make use of those failing updates. The whole point is, if MS can get obtain the order of dependencies wrong, it can receive the wrong ones too.
Thank you for the info. I did have a very couple of updates fail, and once I was having issues, first thing I did was rewind and reinstall those updates. That just made things more unstable. So far, I havent encountered any difficulty with my audio programs. Sound Forge uses framework, and it also runs all right, so Im assuming its having an older version. I surf the web using my studio comp, rrmprove my progs, but I dont play games or do just about anything else from it. So, for the moment, Im gonna leave it alone. If it functions, then Im not planning to mess from it.
From what Ive read, the buyer profile is often a cut down version on the full framework, and it is main purpose is made for tablet devices. I dont use tablets, or perhaps connect my phone to your comp.
