If databases named WidgetDev, WidgetTest or WidgetLive already exist on the SQL Server, the script will overwrite them.
The databases are set up and populated with data.
In this situation, you will discover three steps to putting together the comparison:
Its not necessarily necessary to line object mappings. However, in it there are some schema differences between your source and target.For more information, see Mapping objects
Start SQL Data Compare when not already running.
You can edit the existing project, or make a new project.
If you would like to create a new project, click Cancel to seal the dialog box, and about the toolbar click New Project.
If you get existing projects, as well as the Projects dialog box is displayed instead, click New Project.
In the shaded upper pane, make sure the Source and Target are going to Database.
In it, we are going to compare databases. You can also compare backups and scripts folders.
For each data bank, inside the Server box, type or simply select the name in the server which you set within the databases.
If the databases aren't displayed from the Database lists, right-click in each Database box and then click Refresh, or scroll towards the top in the list and click on Refresh.
To specify the tables and views you would like to include, click on the Tables Views tab:
By default, SQL Data Compare isn't going to compare views.
To include views, within the Options tab, pick the check box for Include views :
The Options tab means that you can modify the behavior of SQL Data Compare during comparison and deployment.
The WidgetPriceList view is currently included inside the comparison.
For the WidgetPrices table, only 4 out in the 6 columns will probably be compared, as two on the column names will not match. To include the remainder columns, you need to map the objects
To include the remainder of the columns, select the Object Mapping tab:
The Object Mapping tab displays a listing of table and look at mappings.
Mappings define which tables and views may be compared. For example, the table WidgetDescriptions in WidgetDev is mapped to WidgetDescriptions in WidgetLive. However, it could be mapped to your table that has a sufficiently similar structure.
You can make use of the object mappings to match tables with assorted or similar names.
The table WidgetPrices shows a Partial mapping, as not most of its columns may be automatically mapped.
To view and edit the column mappings, within the Status column, click Partial to the WidgetPrices table:
In the bottom pane from the dialog box, click DateValidFrom and after that ValidFrom, and after that click Map to map the columns move to your upper pane on the dialog box.
Map the DateValidTo and ValidTo columns from the same way, and click on status for that WidgetPrices table changes to Mapped.
SQL Data Compare displays a communication dialog box that shows the progress with the comparison. If you choose the Close dialog box on completion check box, SQL Data Compare closes this message dialog box automatically the very next time that you chance a comparison on the project. For this situation, leave the setting which is, and then click OK to seal the message box.
The comparison outcomes are displayed within the main window.

For the row where WidgetId is 2, the values for Short Description and Description is the same in both databases, so your data is displayed in gray text.
The Picture values will vary so they are displayed while using darker shaded background.
To experience a specific value in the row double-click it, or right-click and select Show Viewer. Binary Data values are displayed as links. Click the Binary Data link with the row where WidgetID is 2:
For tables or views that incorporate a large variety of columns, some find it useful to display the column values vertically so that you may see records with less effort. To do this, click Show, then Pivot View :

Use the check boxes in each pane to pick out data for deployment. You can select individual tables or views to deploy, as well as each table or view you are able to select the rows that you need to deploy. By default, all rows that differ are selected if you run overview.

Clear the Back up target before deployment check box whether it is selected.

To generate the deployment script, click Next.
Deployment script shows the script to deploy the information sources.
You can search the script, save it, or copy it to your clipboard.
Summary shows a synopsis with the actions from the deployment script.
You can observe the summary grouped from the objects affected, from the type of modification, or with the order when the script modifies the prospective.
Warnings shows a set of any warnings about unexpected behavior that could occur after you deploy the databases.
When you've reviewed the script, deploy the databases:
A confirmation dialog box is displayed. Click Deploy Now to remain.
SQL Data Compare displays some text dialog box that shows the progress in the deployment.
When the deployment is complete, click OK to seal the message box.
SQL Data Compare then re-compares the databases. The outcomes are shown inside main window. In this situation, all tables as well as their rows are shown to become identical, confirming which the deployment has become a success.
Note the WidgetPriceList views may also be now identical, for the reason that tables that they can reference are already deployed:
