CNET is really a site I trust and yes it has never steered me wrong previously 15 years approximately. Back when they'd or heavily sponsored a show I began trusting CNET Somebody help! My version does what I demand it to so IF I spend any moment at all on creating a change, I think I would spend time installing the competing product since it stands at this time. I saved my file often times. Opened file up following day, not saved whatsoever. All new data missing. What a waste. What a nasty activity to somebody. Have them work right through the day. Program fakes you out of trouble allowing you in order to save file, but then won't save or reverts to old file.

Im curious I wont treat you prefer the other person who seems obvious whos the dipshit in my experience because Ive used this system for 6 or many years and have never had this difficulty. In fact, Open Office has been found to save many after the initial learning curve all night . to unlearn many of the subtleties of Office Suite. Im not attached to any software company, only need a small manufacturing company 55 employees which does our personal Marketing, Advertising, Mailings etc. and open Office has allowed us to NOT PAY 700 per seat approximately 12 to 14 seats needed thats a lotta cheese! 9, 000 to 11, 000 every two years can add approximately REAL MONEY!
I anticipate your answer as I dont want to update unless there is usually a benefit. I dont need ANY additional problems within my life. Thanks to your help!

Seemed to cause severe issues lagging and freezing to my laptop; frequent crashes and randomly DELETED MY SEVERAL THOUSAND WORD THESIS:?!!
Ive been using openoffice for 2 years. On my old laptop it posed no problems, except which it would crash every now and again. When I got a different laptop however, it will crash randomly the many time and require sometime to recover files, or only let me open a replica of my original file. This morning was the ultimate straw gets hotter crashed and switched off my laptop. When i turned it back on again my several thousand word thesis ended up erased somehow!! When I clicked to look at the file there is a blank space, though I have been sure in order to save it often. I promptly uninstalled openoffice and downloaded an alternative brand of software. To my surprise my laptop, which have been lagging and freezing frequently, whilst trying to searching online despite being only 5 months old! was restored with a fast-acting and back to normal new computer. I can only assume it was thanks to uninstalling this system, although I have little idea why. Im just thankful that I wont need to go through that nightmare again which enables it to now use my laptop properly!!

1. Although it can be a pretty complete system, the extensions aren't plentiful enough but not updated enough. Sade for this sort of good system. Some should be obtained from your site in lieu of Apache OOfice site. Apache isn't as up-to-date since the old sponsor.
2. There is one bug the most up-to-date version has, seems you can not use the auto-save simply because this causes crashes about every 20 hours people.
3. There is often a missing feature, would be a great little desktop publishing wizard that USED to be readily available for 3.3 version.
Really an excellent system considering it cost nothing. Having taught MS products, including Office, I would never turn back having tried this now. I have not found much it will not do.
BTW, I am an ACTUAL OOffice user having used this since 3.0 version. and in many cases wrote the sunday paper with it using a no longer available Desktop Publishers wizards.
Does perform basic word processing.
Does not build data bases since it constantly claims it deserves a java app open and linked to do what??? was previously you could scan a sheet with numbers and names to it and yes it would add them in the business address book, as you can imagine I have java ready to go on my computer. So in the other think before you buy I lose a vital document. UNINSTALLED.
In inception it had plenty of pros, now they have practically none.

I downloaded this application with regards to a year ago, only deploying it occasionally, and yes it worked great. There were no crashes, I was able to save lots of files and open files all right. When the assignment doesnt open though Ive tried every few minutes to look at it it finally opens hours later. I would not recommend this application to anyone I know who would need to use a word document consistently. Im considering deleting this application on and on with another word document application.
