From Microsoft Game Studios: Download and install this version 1.0 patch for Pandoras Box. This patch fixes a bug specific to computers with new Pentium III processors, which produce the mistake Unable to create DirectDraw surface. Make sure that DirectX is installed, and try again. upon startup.
Note: This patch will still only work while using retail version of Pandoras Box.

Bought Pandoras Box a long time ago and loved it. Tried to strain on Vista but had major difficulty with compatibility. Installed the patch though it did not say that it was for Vista also it works effectively I am able to play mafia wars again.
A little slow to load the action but once inside it is all good.
Well worth a go, wish I could find patches for most of my other older games that work at the same time as this.
If you could have Pandoras box, you will need this patch to have it to play.
The patch resurrected my 8 year-old copy of Pandoras Box plus it runs just great in my Win XP Media Center op sys.
