It was bad enough when Quicken simply littered your desktop with icons linking to Quicken Loans, Free Credit Reports that happen to be never free plus a sundry of other financial pay-to-play products. One thing different in Quicken was the actual way it handles Investment accounts. In Money, an Investment account a Cash Transactions plus an Investment Transactions area. Quicken separated these into two accounts - a Bank account as well as an Investment account. The banking account had each of the Cash transactions from Money and also the Investment account had the many investment transactions. Quicken automatically linked both accounts so that it worked comparable to Money. I wasnt enamored on this functionality because my account list just about doubled. However, I found that I can unlink the accounts. When you unlink the accounts, Quicken moves every one of the data in the bank account in to the investment account and deletes the banking accounts. Unfortunately, now my cash transactions are when combined my investment transactions but thus far its not so bad. I unlinked all of my accounts without 1 problem. Just purchased Quicken Premier 2011 as I learned Wells-Fargo will don't support MS Money.

As a 10 year user I updated Quicken Premier 2008 towards the 2011 version with low expectations. Sure there are a few improvements in performance, but no advances in both reports maybe in screen views. Both are limited in flexibility and power to customize in format-in fact probably no superior to QP2006. Clearly when they had some competition this type of crap wouldnt stand. What was most distressing may be the loss of information with all the elimination of some on the best account or portfolio summary views. Ill perform another week if Im still this annoyed Ill get back on QP2008.
