I learned French the old-fashioned means by school and taught myself sign language coming from a book. In both cases, I got to question questions on the teacher or check out additional information around my NATIVE language which helped me to understand the nuances on the language also to clear up any points of confusion. But RS provides ZERO assistance towards the student inside their NATIVE language. I understand that this very reasons for Rosetta Stone is total immersion, meaning that you are totally immersed within the target language while youre learning it. I studied multiple languages and Rosetta stone is in best used by memorization of vocab, from common to somewhat obsucre, and reinforcing simple grammar. It will never explain grammar.
You never do over repeat exactly what the computer says and select a b c or d. I have had native speakers utilize the speech recognition software plus it still messes up for the kids. Furthermore, soon after days it is going to bore that you death. It is incredibly redundant.
