I selected Sonys Sound Forge 10 when I upgraded os from XP to Windows 7. My two former favorites, Cool Edit Pro and Adobes Audition, dont play particularly friendly with Windows 7, specially the 64 bit version. To my knowledge, Cool Edit Pro does not work in any respect, plus a search online of assorted forums committed to Audition let you know that many folks are searching for workarounds to be to install on Windows 7 machines. Some are successful. Other people, presumably on account of hardware differences, cannot get Audition installed whatsoever.
