I tried using Copy My Hard Drive to create a bootable Windows 7 disk clone and it also rendered the original source drive C: unbootable! I had to leave the installation DVD to solve my Windows 7 installation.
I used to copy my XP drives using this method using Ghost 12 and it also worked smoothly for a long time. No backup program should modify anything on the cause drive. There are several threads around the Symantec site with this and no you have a clue. Save your money if you are considering using the Copy My Hard Drive feature.

Ghost 15.0 is not going to communicate with my Netwok Attached Storage hard disk from Iomega. Since the reason I bought it had been to back my system up about the NAS drive, it can be worthless. Norton Support Technicians have spent an excellent deal of their time on my computer scheming to make it be employed by over a month without results. Finally the course notes said Sorry, but no refund. Every other application, includung Norton Security Suite work fine with my NAS drive so I believe Ghost 15.0 comes with a inherent flaw to use communications routine which you won't discover until you could have opened the package, thereby ruling out any refund. Although Ghost backs up to a internal, usb external and network drive in my 64bit Win 7 machine, you cant restore through the network drive when while using the system recovery disk. It advises that I an individual need to find and load the 32bit drivers. Symantecs advice is usually to call Dell and Microsoft; Dell and Microsoft advise that it is really a Symantec issue. I purchased Ghost 15.0 because it turned out billed as that will work with Windows 7 both by Symantec and Microsoft. However, attempted installation produced error 2738.
